I don't know how they get the direction right in the article about Ariel Sharon. I look at the page source (both with "Edit this page" and with "View source" on my browser) and can't see what they did.

On the edit window I use the arrow right key and the cursor moves in the right order but after I save the page the life years show up in the spot where the name written in Hebrew ought to be. I am completely befuddled by this. Robert Happelberg 22:39, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

Who are "the powers that be"? I've thought perhaps that would be the most credible user in the edit history of the article on Ariel Sharon, or maybe the article on the Hebrew alphabet. So if I understand correctly, all you have to do to get Hebrew text to behave correctly within differently directed text is to type it in using hexadecimal character entities instead of decimal character entities. Then it doesn't matter whether decimal or hexadecimal character entities are used? What matters is that the right-to-left text be preceded by an R2L mark and concluded with a L2R mark?

It would be nice for Wikipedia to have Help:Hebrew like they have Help:Japanese. Anton Mravcek 20:24, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
