El Wray

[edit]

Is there any info on the back story of El Wray? It's pretty confusing trying to understand why he's so famous to people in the movie. --Gяaρнic 03:21, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually no. The "missing scene" part explained the past of El Wray but this scene was never actually made. 72.18.39.72 23:21, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Doctor's assistant

[edit]

I've probably missed it somewhere, but who played Doctor Block's assistant, the guy looking at photos of malformed genitalia? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Krang (talkcontribs) 21:23, 22 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • It was originally in this article but someone removed it; Dr. Felix is an actual doctor that Robert Rodriguez knows. Apparently the doctor's fascination with the effects on the human body by various diseases convinced Rodriguez to cast him as a guest role for the film. 68.55.125.227 (talk) 23:58, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Date

[edit]

Why is the release date listed as being in September? Kouban (talk) 05:35, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Times

[edit]

Am I missing something? The page says:

  • 95 minute original cut
  • 105 minute extended cut
  • But then in the Theatrical Release section it states that a European version has 27 extra minutes... so how long was that version?

So, how many cuts are there (3? 5? 42?)? How long was its' section in the Grindhouse release? Maybe all versions need a quick rundown for clarification. Thanks - Antmusic (talk) 19:16, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article status

[edit]

I have cleaned up the articles for Planet Terror and Death Proof, deleted parts that were either unsourced or were not specific to each individual film, and have basically tried to rework each article into something respectful into each individual work and to try not to treat the films as a single work, as the article had previously done due to the fact that the articles were copied out of the Grindhouse (film) article, and not properly. Basically, the articles are now a lot better looking and more specific to each individual film. As the "missing reel" title card only appeared in the US "double feature" version of Death Proof did not appear in the non-double feature version of that film, the "missing reels" info only appears in the Grindhouse and Planet Terror articles. The information about the fake trailers only appears in the Grindhouse article, as the separated version of Planet Terror only contains the Machete trailer, and Death Proof does not feature any trailers. I have also added development information from the Grindhouse article to the Planet Terror and Death Proof articles. (Sugar Bear (talk) 15:40, 2 March 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Script question

[edit]

Does anyone know if mr. Tarantino affected the script of the movie?

The ending where El Wray dies and Cherry Darling has his daughter strikes me a lot of what was supposed to be the endinng of mr. Tarantinos written True Romance. In that film the original script calls for the death of Clarence Worley with Alabama Worley telling the story with Clarences son, but it was changed by the director Tony Scott. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Linkato1 (talkcontribs) 12:01, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Character names

[edit]

According to the subtitles (on the UK DVD edition at least)Rose McGowan's character is called Charity Darling, not Cherry as the article states.

  • The name is "Cherry". This was proven when Cherry introduced herself to Dakota Block and Dakota replied "You sure are." This references the slang definition of "cherry" which means virgin or untouched; the humor behind the comment is because Dakota is bi-sexual and to her knowledge Cherry has never been with another woman. 68.55.125.227 (talk) 23:53, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Planet Terror / Death Proof title cards

[edit]

I do not have the film(s) yet, but I do remember that Death Proof had two title cards but did Planet Terror even have a title card? As I remember the screening, the only title card was the scolling Grindhouse before Planet Terror began. --RedKnight (talk) 19:09, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ignore that question, I must have missed it in the original credits while Cherry is on stage --RedKnight (talk) 13:10, 15 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Where's the Reception / Critical response section?!

[edit]

I've read a lot of articles about movies here on Wikipedia and I haven't found yet a single one (just as examples: Nashville (film), The Rocky Horror Picture Show and these are just two that I have open in my browser at the moment) without some sort of "Reception" and/or "Response" section! So why does this film in particular miss it? --Wayfarer (talk) 02:38, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I added the RT scores to it and used the RT link as citation. 14.2.50.215 (talk) 09:24, 3 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Website?

[edit]

Is that really the official website or was it bought when the lease expired. It looks like a link farm at the moment. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.100.204.224 (talk) 12:11, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Removed the link farm URL, as the official site seems to have gone dark.Wzrd1 (talk) 11:58, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Plot Summary

[edit]

I disagree the plot summary is too long or detailed. It's necessary because a lot happens in this film. Leishalynn (talk) 12:10, 24 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
