I've cleaned up the grammar, punctuation and organisation of this article and improved the clarity with more sections and shorter paragraphs. Does anyone know the first name of Mrs Edward Hirst? Refering to her in this way sounds silly and pompous and is less accurate than including her full name. Also, an article of this length could benefit from a picture. There was one there but it had been removed for being unsourced, and if it can't be displayed it seems futile to have that fact announced in the article. Primary sources, notability

I have reinstated the {{primarysources}} tag for a second time, and also tagged the article for {{notability}}. There are no references anywhere in the article to substantial coverage in reliable sources independent of the subject, so it also fails WP:N.

Please don't remove those tags until there is evidence of substantial coverage in reliable sources independent of the subject.

PS. I have just done a Google-search for Polocrosse, and find pages of entries on Polocrosse clubs, but no sign of anything in independent sources. A GoogleNews search throws up some signs of trivial coverage in local newspapers, but not much. BHG, I again removed the primary sources tag now that several sources have been added. The article is of sufficient notability to be in wikipedia and I am puzzled by your definition of "independent souces," I believe you are misinterpreting WP:Cite and WP:N that sometimes there are "best available" sources that are sufficient to establish notability, even if they aren't ideal. Please note that I am not an editor on this article, nor am I a participant in this sport; this is an independent NPOV judgement. I am putting several more sources on the talk page of the article, it clearly is an international sport, I really fail to see what these authors need to add. Hi BHG. The sport is widely played on an organised basis in rural Australia and is clearly notable. It is generally played in rural areas and thus media coverage is generally through local newspapers that more often than not are not online. Requiring media coverage from city newspapers is a form of systemic bias. Inline citations are not needed to establish notability and I share Montanabw's puzzlement at your interpretation of WP:N. There are enough sources demonstrating notability and while the referencing needs improving this is not a notability issue. I found the sponsorship of polocrosse by Pony Clubs to be pretty convincing as a third party source establishing notability. Pony Clubs are like Girl Scouts or Boy Scouts for horsey kids. If Pony Clubs acknowledge a discipline, then it has considerable legitimacy. I fully support this article being kept and being of more than adequate notability. World Cups

If anyone has access to the Polocrosse World Cup results and any of the international tournament results, dates and other general info, we could then add a section on International tournaments. It might give the article more depth, and let readers know that it is a growing sport. I live in Zimbabwe, and even though the pool of players is not growing fast, it is growing as a spectator sport out here. It was recently considered interesting enough for the Greendale Open (final Zim tournament of the year) to be shown on Supersport. If no one else is interested i might try to expand the article myself, but i know very little about the international aspects of the sport. RedStan (talk) 07:48, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Notability

G'day all, just to give you a better idea the club websites are a great source. They are unbiased to the club as every club is just trying to promote polocrosse as much as possible. The club websites also usually include a history and summary of the game. You could also check out the Australian website http://www.polocrosse.org.au/, or the Queensland website http://www.polocrosse.com.au/. Neither of these are just clubs, and you might find the information more to your liking. This is coming from a player of the sport, keen to promote it in any way possible.
