Split largest sections of article into new articles?

Split - This article is large, and its largest sections should be split into new articles. Thoughts???--Jax 0677 (talk) 01:48, 12 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I reckon it's going to have to be split in chunks of more than one section, because no individual section is long enough to make a significant impact. Unless of course you really want to split it into many chunks Azylber (talk) 02:51, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Comment - There are 11 major sections, some of which can be combined. We can figure that out as the size is determined.--Jax 0677 (talk) 03:22, 19 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Comment I wrote the long thing to begin with. For what it's worth, the original structure was more or less setting+layout, fairway+navigation rules, governance+law enforcement, operations+passenger+business model. I broke it up in the current setup as the old scheme made it too unwieldy. As for splitting, it probably makes more thematic sense (but takes more effort) to move the radio stuff on the Tianjin Coastal Radio article, move history as a separate article, move the financial and planning stuff onto the Tianjin Port Group article, move some of the stuff into independent articles for the Dongjiang Free Trade Zone, the Lingang Industrial Area, etc.
Jax, unluckily I am short of time these days, I will not really be able to write the summaries will take the place of the moved chunks. Can you find someone who will? Otherwise, the main article becomes an empty placeholder of separate articles, and placeholders are not very useful articles.
