Merge

[edit]

Please merge this article with Turku. The information here that is actually encyclopedic belongs in that article. The cities themselves are always viwed as synonymous with the port.

Er, why? I don't view Turku as 'synonymous' with its port. You can have a look at Category:Ports and see quite a lot more ports that are not viewed synonymous with the cities that they're in. - ulayiti (talk) 16:14, 13 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The railway station really needs its own article. Because of the way Template:S-line works, I had to create something at Port of Turku railway station, because the template expects all names of railway station articles to end in " railway station". Currently it's a redirect to this article. If significantly more material is added it should be moved to its own article. JIP | Talk 17:15, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Turku Harbour

[edit]

I was originally going to suggest that the railway station article be named "Turku Harbour railway station"; but seeing the not above I now realise that it's not currently a separate article... which it quite possible should be as (unlike most other countries), the amount of rail-boat passenger traffic is still very large. There are still direct long-distance sleeping carriages to the station... in most countries they would be finishing at the main Turku railway station and relying on people to make their own way to the Habour station (...which is what happens with the car-carrying wagons!). —Sladen (talk) 18:08, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
