Pronounciation

[edit]

Red-billed Buffalo weaver

[edit]

The mention of this bird in a list of birds with penises is incorrect, since it has a pseudo penis. Also, the reference is broken. Anyone care to fix it?

Never mind, I fixed it. EthanL (talk) 08:54, 11 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Skarks

[edit]

Would a sharks claspers count as phsuedo-penis or they not simular enough?

The picture of the mallard

[edit]

That's a boy duck. He probably has a non-pseudo penis being a waterfowl. Is that a good exemplary picture?

The image appears to be incorrectly labeled. Jarble (talk) 18:36, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Definition

[edit]

It says, “A pseudo-penis is any structure found on an animal that, while superficially appearing to be a penis, is derived from a different developmental path.” I don’t think this definition does justice to mammal pseudo-penises, which are essentially penis-like clitorises. Since the clitoris is the female homolog of the penis, the term “different developmental path” might not be strictly accurate; these penis-like clitorises have presumably taken much the same developmental path as a penis.--Solomonfromfinland (talk) 19:02, 5 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct, that definiton is wrong. But I will not dare to edit it because very-probably my edit would be instantly undone by the STUPID wikibots. 187.116.91.252 (talk) 01:25, 3 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
