[edit]

This page is about a popular program, known as RPG Maker. It has been distributed to thousands of users via the internet, and has a wide fan base. Each RPG Maker is seperate, and distinct in it's functions. Do not merge them! They are simply a work in progress. Kopf1988 19:28, 4 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree, Kopf. There is not all that much encyclopaedic knowledge about the RPG maker games, not enough to fill a dozen entries. If they are all put into a single entry, there is sufficient information to create an interesting A-class article. Otherwise, they can be nothing but a loose-knit collection of Starts and Stubs. More specific information about the Makers doesn't really belong on Wikipedia (see WP:NOT#INDISCRIMINATE, number 4), it belongs on specialised sites... like mine ;) Erk|Talk -- I like traffic lights -- 12:49, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, they should be merged. At best, the series article modified to include version changes. Just my opinion of course.

I say, keep them separate. Look, all this merging is stupid. Wikipedia is made as an encyclopedia, not as a summary. It is at least my goal to someday have just about everything having their own well written article. --Mooshykris 02:22, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that they should be merged, for reasons already stated. Brandonrc2 (talk) 02:25, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an old topic, let's not get into it, they're staying separate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mooshykris (talkcontribs) 04:02, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. Kopf1988 (talk) 05:20, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RGSS

[edit]

RGSS is recursive, so someone should make an article on it (Not me, though).

I disagree, if it is that common, then perhaps a section should be added in Ruby (programming language) SaderBiscut 18:26, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

There is no need to fill the Ruby page with RGSS, it should have his own page. Seth66 00:31, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

rmxp.org

[edit]

We aren't an official forum by any stretch. I do believe we are the largest rmxp forum, at least in English, but not officially recognised. Erk|Talk -- I like traffic lights -- 02:27, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Addons and Games

[edit]

Keep them out of the article, unless you plan to do a comprehensive index of every object of this type, including non-English items. And in that case, it would be better to create a sub-page for them. --Renian Fox 09:22, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

System Requirements

[edit]

It says RPGMXP runs on nearly every operating system but it is only designed for Win XP that I know of.

This is untrue - RPGMXP is designed for 98, 2000, ME, XP, and Vista (via an update), as said by the publishers in the system requirements. (Well, I think 2000 and ME, though it might not be.) 82.47.81.160 10:03, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Non-encyclopedic presentation

[edit]

From at least the character animation section down, the article starts reading as a personal essay rather than an encyclopedic entry. There are numerous typos, misspelled words, incorrect usage of punctuation, etc. There's too much of it for me to clean up at once, and only cleaning a little would serve little purpose... someone with a sound grasp on English grammar should take a look. --Epix998 13:29, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Translated Versions

[edit]

It says that all translations became legal... There has only ever been one legal translation, and that's by Enterbrain themselves. Also, does this really need to be here? If there was information about translations on the page for every single piece of software, there'd be no room left on Wikipedia :) 82.47.81.160 10:06, 7 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Character Set.gif

[edit]

Image:Character Set.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Advantages?

[edit]

My friend's redoing his VX game in XP and I was wondering what the advantages were, if any. Maybe the RPG Maker article(s) should address advantages and differences like with a chart or list. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.99.28.223 (talk) 16:10, 11 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Audio - M4A extension

[edit]

I tried converting an MP3 to an M4A after I read that it had better quality and size, but the result was over 9 times the size and I'm sure the quality was the same. I would love some feedback on this, just trying to get RMXP to load my BGMs faster because some of them take around a second to start and that's unacceptable when I'm running around in-game. They shouldn't stop my player from moving, but I am fairly certain that they are. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.13.182.194 (talk) 04:43, 9 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
