Brother Brijesh Pandey's association with INC

[edit]

<! -- </ref> His brother Brajesh Kumar Pandey was Bihar Congress Vice-President.[1] He resigned after he was booked under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act in February 2017.[2] Please remove these lines, these were put purposely to defame Ravish Kumar. Because .. 11 opindia.com is not a news portal as well not at all reliable. 12 www.ndtv.com Link do not claim that, Brajesh Pandey is brother of Ravish Kumar in any way. Brajesh Kumar Pandey is the Real Brother of Ravish Kumar. His past association with INC has to be given a mention in the article as its necessary for maintaining the article neutrality underneutral point of view .AnM2002 (talk) 09:14, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

NPOV is very clear in saying "Describe disputes but don't engage." Thus, i propose that the mention about association between Brother of Mr Kumar and INC should be duly added in the article as the reference sources below clearly validate this. AnM2002 (talk) 09:09, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The references on which my arguement is based[1][2]
Nothing all of this junks above is and will be important to the article, This article is not about his brother, and in personal life nothing should be added which will result in demean the value of the personality. It violates WP:NPOV, lot of WP:UNDUE weight considering the subject of the matter along with WP:BLP violation. This is not a dispute, since whole thing is about someone else. Dey subrata (talk) 09:53, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Fellow editor you need to calm down a bit. Don't be Ill-tempered be rational and maintain Civility in accordance with Wiki principles. AnM2002 (talk) 10:10, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I completely agree this article is not about Brajesh Pandey but what i propose is adding the following under personal life section," His Brother Brajesh Pandey is a Former member and VP of INC Bihar." I am nowhere mentioning any controversy that his brother is involved in. Please go through the following a bit carefully
AnM2002 (talk) 10:17, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Do you think Jansatta and National Herald are Junk ? Please establish your 'charge with facts' AnM2002 (talk) 10:19, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
please keep your arguement related to the statement that I have proposed not the extra information associated. AnM2002 (talk) 10:21, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I am calm only, sorry if my words seem so. Junks for this article, I am not talking about what's written there. Mentioning of his brother and details also fails the WP:BIO. Dey subrata (talk) 10:24, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Do you understand what balance is, it's about the person, not someone else !!!! period. Dey subrata (talk) 10:27, 14 May 2020 (UTC)
Can you elaborate how the statement I am proposing violates WP:BIO, last I read it was about ' notability ' to decide if a subject deserves an article or not? I am simply asking to add something about his family what's wrong in that ? I am no where mentioning if his brother is involved in some controversy. Whats the point of having personal life section , if you can't mention details about family ? Tomorrow someone will use the same argument and say why not remove the mention of Modi's wife from his article what then ?AnM2002 (talk) 10:54, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
My bad, I was talking about the notability of the person. A line having, he has a brother named Brajesh Kumar, is enough. He is not a notable leader, other than particluar case there are no other coverages on him. Dey subrata (talk) 11:20, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I think I have previously noted the WP:BLP, if you had gone through that, you had known what wikipedia is NOT. It may also lead you to WP:NOTNEWS or WP:NOTWHOSWHO. Also, we no need to think of future POV pushing, we have methods to deal with them. Dey subrata (talk) 11:29, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
But remember to add citation which is independent of the sexual allegation incident. If you don't have any, then no need of mentioning the above mentioned line, because other than that allegation article, nothing else was published. Dey subrata (talk) 11:34, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

https://amp/s/swarajyamag.com/amp/story/insta%252Fwith-congress-giving-ticket-to-senior-journalist-heres-list-of-journos-closely-associated-with-top-politicians Is the above reference apt ?If you have any objection please let me know. On a lighter note, you have some phrasing errors in your replies, I suggest you check them up as they may lead to wrong inferences. (AGF) AnM2002 (talk) 12:00, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

No, swarajmag is not a reliable source per RSN. You can't add it here. Its a fake and manufactured news site in the name of fact checking and a highly rightwing propaganda website. Dey subrata (talk) 12:23, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dey subrata below is the list of citations from reliable sources confirming 'Brijesh Pandey' is Ravish's brother and associated with INC. Also, the citations contain no mention of the 'sexual allegations incident.' Now, there shouldn't be any obstacle to adding the following under personal life section in accordance to the consensus reached above- 'He has a Brother named Brijesh Pandey who lives in Motihari Bihar and is a member of INC.' Citations below- [3] [4]

Controversies

[edit]

Ravish Kumar has always projected himself to be neutral in his analysis of political events. However, his elder brother is a leader of left leaning Indian National Congress, which is not known to many of his viewers. His brother Brajesh Kumar Pandey has been made a candidate for legislative elections of Bihar in 2020 by Congress. Due to this, the supporter of right wing hindu nationalist party BJP accuse Ravish Kumar of bias in his reporting.[1].

Ravish Kumar is considered a champion of social and gender causes by many of his viewers. However, In 2016, his elder brother, Brajesh Kumar Pandey, was accused of sexual abuse by a minor dalit girl, who was daughter of a congress leader. In 2017, Ravish had issued a press release acknowledging the charges against his brother, but rejected the charges outright as fake without complete invesitgation being done in the case by the authorities. This was seemed to be unethical by many due to the high standard Ravish Kumar expects from others in public life. [2] [3] [4]Raghuveer07 (talk) 14:16, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not done Seems like the subject's brother has been embroiled in controversies. So? These can't be added in this article, perhaps in Brajesh Kumar Pandey article, if there is one. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 15:50, 6 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please change x to y As, you rightly pointed out,I have removed the controversy related to brother being made candidate for Congress. However, you can read that other things are controverisal and are related to this person. There is conflict of interest and ethics and hence controvery is there.relevant sources hav been added— Preceding unsigned comment added by Raghuveer07 (talkcontribs) 09:10, 7 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Remove line mentioning Adani as close ally of PM. There is no proof of that and hence it’s factually wrong. 103.39.128.211 (talk) 18:32, 2 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Where is the proof that he is a left-wing journalist?

He is to the left of a majority or a significant part of the Indian media? Yes, but that's because they are so far right.

As can be seen in the recent documentary, While We Watched, he and his network were focused on finding the truth and broadcasting it.

While other networks were completely unbalanced and shrill, he and his staff worked hard to present balanced and subdued content. 38.55.66.254 (talk) 03:51, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
