[edit]I flagged this article because it's... terrible. 82.163.36.96 23:35, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- agreed, is wikipedia a supermarket tabloid magazine now? how about some paparazzi shots too!
This article is absolutely awful. possibly the worst I've read on Wikipedia. Why is he labeled a "Porn Star?" Because he was in one sex video that was accidentally released?
==
I agree! I particularly liked the line "This rumor seems very incredibly." [sic]
All that's really missing is the use of the word 'like' between every like other like word, for the total experience.

Fair use rationale for Image:Letsplayhouse.jpg
[edit]Image:Letsplayhouse.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit]I've added a picture of him from Wikicommons: Image:Academy Awards afterparty CUN RayJ.jpg, but it doesn't look like him comparing to his homepage. So, is it the same Ray J on both pictures? Thanks --Kimse (talk) 05:47, 20 April 2008 (UTC) no not even close

Hi. I was identified by Wikipedia as editing this page from IP address 69.125.163.174 in January 2011, even though I only got the message now (in December 2015), despite my having been on Wikipedia steadily for all the years in between. I'm going to have to guess that the IP address comes from this laptop, which is a used one and which I just got less than a week ago.
In other words, I didn't make the reverted edit. I don't even know who Ray J is. - Reverend Flash — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.125.163.174 (talk) 14:01, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
Whitney Houston
[edit]This article has a line in the 'personal life' section claiming he was in a relationship with Whitney Houston before her death. It wasn't sourced, and I don't see anything about that in her article, so I removed it. Statements about personal relationships are the type of claim that, per WP:BLP, should only be included if they are supported by reliable sources. Robofish (talk) 21:56, 17 February 2012 (UTC)
Reality vs. Acting
[edit]The following sentence is currently under Reality Television: "He also played the role of Roberto in the movie Christmas at Water's Edge in 2004." It should be moved to Acting Career, but not at the end, keep the paragraph in chronological order. Or do something else with it! I don't care but it doesn't belong under Reality Television. The page is locked and I'm not a member, so could somebody fix that pretty please? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.210.216.146 (talk) 00:08, 15 May 2012 (UTC)

Ray J's Electronic Businesses
[edit]This wiki page is currently outdated and lacks information about the life and career of Ray J. He is a known businessman for several years now. He has founded two different technology companies from 2015 to the present. These aspects of his recent life are very public and should be reflected.
These are clips of his Fox Business Interviews for his current electronic company Raycon Global Inc.

- Hi Cenatusa, thanks for your contributions. I would say since it's been covered by multiple sources that it's definitely appropriate to mention in the article. Does anyone else have thoughts? (Courtesy pings for other reverting reviewers Felida97 and Strikerforce) Katniss May the odds be ever in your favor ♥ 18:56, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- Concur with KatnissEverdeen on proof of validity for the article. StrikerforceTalk 19:09, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- I agree with Katniss, and my apologies for judging a bit too quickly on his notability (even though the edit I reverted was just the addition of "businessman" to the lead without any sources). However, I would suggest that you make it a new section instead of integrating it in the performing career section. Sort of like in the Sean Combs article (was the first example I could think of) and maybe title it something like "Business ventures" or "Business career". I think it's useful to separate his performing career from his quite recent business ventures, but that's just a suggestion. (Appreciate the ping, KatnissEverdeen.) Felida97 (talk) 19:46, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you for reviewing a second time and your suggestions. I will adjust the page accordingly, however is there a way I should go about it where I won't be reverted again? Or can I now undo the previous revisions KatnissEverdeen Felida97 ? Cenatusa (talk) 21:32, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- Now that we have reached consensus about the inclusion here on the talk page, you can simply add a new section with the contents of your earlier edits and refer to this talk page discussion in your edit summary. I would not undo the previous revisions since you then will not get a new section. You could, however, take a look at the earlier revisions of yours and copy and paste the contents (and maybe slightly adjust them). P.S. Please sign your talk page posts using the four tildes (~~~~), thanks. Felida97 (talk) 20:42, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- I would suggest not using the video linked above. Videos take up more space on websites and, as such, are often removed long before text articles are removed. I'd suggest only using the Billboard source provided, as well as any other reliable text sources. StrikerforceTalk 20:44, 22 May 2018 (UTC)
- Agreed with both of the above comments. If you follow all that, it shouldn't be reverted again and if it is I'm sure one of us will be happy to direct the reverting editor to our talk page discussion if necessary. Cheers Katniss May the odds be ever in your favor ♥ 20:47, 22 May 2018 (UTC)

- His position in Raycon Global Inc. should be stated in the first paragraph as it is a multi-million dollar company that Ray J is currently the Chief Strategy Officer for. This is the case for other similar pages such as Diddy or Dr. Dre.Cenatusa (talk) 16:25, 30 May 2018 (UTC)

Hi there, there are two edits that should be reflected with his electronics brand, Raycon, as it has not been updated for some time and there have been some changes. - Change 'Raycon Global Inc' section to 'Raycon Inc' -> this is the updated business name on record (Source = https://icis.corp.delaware.gov/ecorp/entitysearch/namesearch.aspx) - Change the section summary to "In October 2017, Ray J co-founded a consumer electronics brand called Raycon, which sells wireless audio products at accessible price points. Through its direct-to-consumer website, Raycon serves customers in the United States and Europe. In 2020, Raycon passed the 1 million customer mark. As Chief Strategy Officer, Ray J oversees brand and strategy." -> I believe this reflects the update on the business more accurately, sounds less ad-like. (Source on 1 million customer mark as well as Cowboy no longer working with Raycon is here = https://mixergy.com/interviews/raycon-with-ray-j)
Thank you for the consideration and thoughtfulness placed into this article! 74.88.121.15 (talk) 20:29, 3 April 2021 (UTC)
- Partially implemented, I added some of the information you recommended, however, the wording for the section summary you suggested was worded like an advertisement. If you have a conflict of interest, you should disclose that per WP:COI. Also if you want the November 2017 founding date changed to October 2017 please provide a source for that information, it wasn't in either of the two sources you provided. Thank you. COI
[edit]I declared COI at the top of the article but adding a section to Talk as well. I made a small change to this article after a friend at Raycon asked. If anyone has any questions I can address them here or on my talk page. — Mainly 17:53, 20 April 2021 (UTC)
