Service in World Wars
[edit]I have edited the mention of R.M. being wounded in World War 2. Where is that information sourced? In his own autobiography "A Hundred Different Lives" there's not a single mention of it, and certainly Massey didn't serve out of Canada. Massey tells of his re-joining the Canadian Army in 1941 (against the wise advice of his friend Humphrey Bogart, who told him that the best that men of their ages could do was to pay their taxes), and how he was assigned to routine office duties in Ottawa, which seemed to him in retrospect a waste of time, as he was meant to supervise recreational activities but, he wrote "I was never once invited to take any part in whatsoever in my own field of entertainment". With the agreement of his superiors, he returned to civilian life, and to acting.
I have added, though, a bit of extra information about RM's World War 1 service, when he saw active service in the Western Front~. the source is his early autobiography "When I Was Young".Gloria Porta 13:11, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
Lincoln's voice
[edit]That would be very neat, if Massey's voice really was close to Lincoln's. Do we have a source?--Idols of Mud 22:13, 22 August 2006 (UTC) No, because Robert Todd Lincoln died in 1926, before Massey made any talking movies. Written descriptions of Lincoln's voice are very different from Massey's. 75.110.46.96 04:26, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

World War One Chronology Needs Double-checking
[edit]At present, we have him serving in France, suffering shell-shock and being sent home. Then sent to Siberia in 1918 (the last year of the war). Then (apparently) back in France, wounded, and again sent home. Is this really correct? Or was he, perhaps, sent home from France only once, which has developed here into two different accounts? Massey College at University of Toronto
[edit]Raymond Massey's brother Vincent Massey (Governor General 1952-59) established Massey College at the University of Toronto with essentially family money, opening in 1963 and Raymond was a frequent attender at administrative functions of the College back home in Toronto. Would it not be of relevance as to his private life for this to be mentioned? Masalai (talk) 04:46, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
