Overview edits

[edit]

The mission and background are important. I propose the following change: The Restaurant Opportunities Centers United (ROC) is a not-for-profit organization and worker center with affiliates in 9 cities across the United States. The mission of the Restaurant Opportunities Centers United is to improve wages and working conditions for the nation's low wage restaurant workforce. The group was founded with funding from the labor union HERE and has said that its goal is to “organize all unorganized restaurant workers in New York City.”[1]

Colors Section

[edit]

Would it be preferable to put the lawsuit into its own section? Subheading of “Lawsuit” or “Controversy”? — Preceding unsigned comment added by LightSParker (talkcontribs) 18:21, 7 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Activities section

[edit]

Changed the tense on some changes to make it clear that HERE affiliation was noted earlier (in 2004) and is not necessarily current.

ROC-NY conducts labor campaigns to force restaurant owners to increase wages and change working conditions for employees.[1] ROC-NY has specifically tried to unionize restaurant employees and works with HERE to do so.[2]

Research section needed?

[edit]

An editor re-highlighted the research of ROC. This probably warrants a separate section. LightSParker (talk) 16:44, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
