Currently held territory
[edit]According to the map which remained unchanged until February, the RCA still holds some territory in the south of Syria. This is not yet addressed in the article, it seems. --KnightMove (talk) 05:58, 15 August 2021 (UTC)
Name Change to Maghaweir al-Thowra
[edit]So I think this article was renamed when the NSyA had just turned into MaT and it wasn’t clear how they were going to transliterate them name in English.
Almost all sources, including the rebels themselves, refer to the group as “Maghaweir al-Thowra”. “Revolutionary Commando Army” is not even an accurate translation of this name, and a more accurate one would be “Commandos of the Revolution”. “Army” is only a postfix sometimes used by the rebels themselves, but whenever they use the term, they translate it to English as “The Maghaweir al-Thowra Army”.
I’m planning on changing the group’s wiki page to “Maghaweir al-Thowra unless there is a consensus against it. TheAmericanWarlord (talk) 23:28, 20 February 2022 (UTC)

Maghaweir al-Thowra → Maghawir al-Thawra – Minor spelling change, moving to the most common spelling. PAGE) 16:24, 9 October 2022 (UTC)- WP:COMMONNAME is usually preferred over official names, and it's questionable whether the concept of "official" even applies to a small paramilitary group like this one, which has no website and whose social media accounts lack official verification. - Comment - there seem to be various spellings in use, including Maghaweer el Thawra in one case, so @Lightspecs and Ahecht: we definitely need to see some more evidence that the proposed form is really the WP:COMMONNAME, and also discuss it fully at this RM. — Amakuru (talk) 11:00, 13 October 2022 (UTC)
- Comment - Well the discussion is moot now that the group has changed its name once again. I guess someone can close this request and we'll move this page to the new name after it's more established. Lightspecs (talk) 11:23, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
