Headline text
[edit]There's an interesting conflict between naming conventions that I noticed while thinking about this entry.
Robert Cook is the commonly used form of this person's name.
One wikipedia naming convention says to use the middle initial in the article name to disambiguate it from the other Robert Cooks:
- Use common names of persons and things
- Convention: Use the most common name of a person or thing that does not conflict with the names of other people or things.
Another convention advises against same, but remains silent on what to do about disambiguation:
- Adding middle names, or their abbreviations, merely for disambiguation purposes (that is: if this format of the name is not the commonly used one to refer to this person): not advised.
What's an editor to do? Should this article be: "Robert A. Cook," "Robert Cook" (clearly not, if there's already an entry there), or "Robert Cook (Software Developer)"? --Zippy 22:54, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
- I think I answered my own question. As there's no entry for "Robert Cook" already, I'm renaming this to "Robert Cook". We'll have to deal with disambiguation when the next Robert Cook comes along. --Zippy 22:56, 11 October 2005 (UTC)
WikiProject class rating
[edit]This article was automatically assessed because at least one WikiProject had rated the article as stub, and the rating on other projects was brought up to Stub class. BetacommandBot 11:05, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
This article does not seem to have any references or links to articles to prove any of the statements shown in the article, which is another reason for it to either be deleted or expanded upon. The addition of references and external links for proof of said statements would be nice too. AnnaJGrant (talk) 12:36, 25 March 2008 (UTC)
Birthday problem
[edit]The entry says Cook was born in 1964 and cites a seemingly unreliable internet source while the persons own LinkedIn says she graduated from Yale in 1993. Given the info on the LinkedIn profile, it seems that the birth year in the entry is incorrect. I'm guessing it is 1970 or 1971, but I can't find a more accurate source.
