Contested deletion
[edit]This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because... The information on this man is important. After most shootings, a page of informative information for the public about the perpetrator has been maintained, i.e James Holmes. A re-direct will counterproduct in the future. Other editors can make it better. Many people come to wikipedia looking for more detailed information on people, and i'm sure some will want to know more about this man, in a compiled organized way.
When murderer's have been brought to national/international attention, even in the case of single-victim murderers like George Zimmerman articles were often made to inform the public. At least have a section dedicated to the perpetrator, like in the cases of the articles 2014 Isla Vista killings, Binghamton shootings, and Geneva County massacre.
Relevant Murderer's, Mass murderers and spree killers with their own pages include:
- James Eagan Holmes
- Charles Starkweather
- Caril Ann Fugate
- Howard Unruh

- It occurs to me you created this article because experienced editors at the shooting article are not allowing a separate section on the shooter at this time. -- WV ● ✉ ✓ 03:07, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
Michaelfinnie: when you respond to comments, please do so in a new post rather than add to the one that was already responded to. See WP:REFACTOR for more. -- WV ● ✉ ✓ 03:22, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
More of theses criminals with their own pages include:
- Richard Chase
- Charles Whitman
- Andrew Cunanan
- Mark O. Barton
- Seung-Hui Cho
- William Unek
- Martin Bryant
- Woo Bum-kon
I guess if we could, we should include a informative section on the perpetrator on the event article itself. Otherwise, an article on him itself would help, like with all the many other pages specifically about perpetrators. Michaelfinnie (talk) 03:29, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
WP:BLP applies to talk pages
[edit]- It should also be noted that WP:BLP applies to talk pages as well as articles, and George Zimmerman should not be referred to as a murderer, as he was acquitted on that charge. I suggest removing and/or striking those comments.173.216.248.174 (talk) 03:33, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
