Layout and listgap

[edit]

Regarding the edit summary in [1]:

WP:LISTGAP means your lists must be together directly. You must not put spaces in as you did here. It will produce HTML that looks like this:

<ul>
<li>cite 1</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>cite 2</li>
</ul>

which is the broken experience that LISTGAP says isn't allowed and which is not WP:ACCESSible for unsighted users. You may inspect your version of the HTML if you wish. If you wish further clarification, you may ask at WT:ACCESS. I have instead now put in a workaround which is to end the citation template on the next line down to add the desired whitespace.

Regarding WP:LAYOUT, the expectation is that the appendices are usually their own level 2 sections. And certainly, the reversion reason of "reduce the TOC length" is totally invalid because you are still adding an entry to the TOC. Regardless, these are not the sources as cited in the article which one would expect as part of the bibliography section (though I personally prefer to call that the works cited or sources section to distinguish clearly from an author's bibliography, which is a listing of their written works, as discussed at LAYOUT). Lastly, it shouldn't be a part of the div col but instead its own line. Izno (talk) 21:05, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
