... that Detroit has been waiting for its statue of RoboCop for over 12 years? Source: "... decided to create their own plans for a statue by starting a Kickstarter campaign which raised more than $67,000. Fast-forward 12 years and the statue could soon be on public display."

Article is new and long enough at time of nomination, hook is cited and interesting; Earwig's happy. The article is in good shape. Personally I'm leaning towards ALT1 - the humour there is more appealing than the delay of a public project. The wording of it tripped me up a little, might it be better as:
ALT1a... that RoboCop's groin had to be partially shaved off during the assembly of his statue?
Either way, RoboCop needs to be wikilinked; likely most of the people seeing the hook will never have heard of it. Frzzl talk; contribs 17:08, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
