My evaluation of this article for Bio372
[edit]The entry on Ruddy Turnstones seems decently complete. According to the WikiProject page for birds, most articles should be in the format of taxonomy, description, distribution, behavior, and culture or human relations. This article is missing taxonomy and relationship to culture or humans. Under the behavior section of the article, an additional category of how they act like producers and scroungers could be added, which would discuss the variable foraging techniques they use and how dominant individuals specialized in routing while the subordinates had to “make the best of a bad job”. Other topics that could be added to behavior are how ESS thinking relates to their choices of techniques as well as the frequency dependent payoff equilibrium. The writing appears well written to me and in a neutral point of view. The references section though does not have footnotes like other Wikipedia articles. Looking at the Talk section it looks like there has been not much discussion on the Ruddy Turnstone. The Talk section only lists the WikiProjects it is affiliated with as well as it being of low importance to the groups. The Talk page shows it is a start-class article. The history shows that it was last edited in July and consists of small edits ever since its formation in 2007. Zhangt2413 (talk) 19:43, 25 September 2012 (UTC)
Large edit for the behavior section
[edit]I just added a bunch of things to the behavior section, as well as reorganizing it a bit. I also added references, but now some references have links in the text while others don't. I'll come back to clean it up later, but if anyone wants to take a shot at it, I'd be in their debt. WolfyFTW (talk) 04:47, 26 September 2012 (UTC)
Move discussion in progress
[edit]There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Common Snipe which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 09:30, 4 May 2014 (UTC)

The ruddy turnstone (Arenaria interpres) is a small wading bird in the sandpiper family, Scolopacidae. It is a highly migratory bird, breeding in northern parts of Eurasia and North America and flying south to winter on coastlines almost worldwide. This adult ruddy turnstone in non-breeding plumage was photographed at Boat Harbour in New South Wales, Australia. Photograph credit: John Harrison
