"Polish Holocaust" video
[edit]All available evidence suggests that the only thing objectionable about the video was the use of the phrase "Polish Holocaust"; there was no attempt at removing Germany from responsibility. Evidence also suggests that the foundation simply wants to ensure the law doesn't lead to attempts to rewrite unpleasant history such as the Jedwabne pogrom. The fact that there was no official national government during German occupation makes the law rather silly. –Skywatcher68 (talk) 22:25, 22 February 2018 (UTC)
- Evidence suggests, that Polish Jewish community sees statements from the video as "false and hurtful" and video itself to be a part of a "hate campaign" http://warszawa.jewish.org.pl/en/2018/02/statment-film-released-by-the-ruderman-family-foundation/. However, instead of the facts only the point of view of the "Ruderman Family Foundation" is presented in this article. Their own interpretation of the Polish Jewish community reaction is quoted, instead of the real reasons. I fail to see how showing only explanation of the authors of this controvetsial video to be NPOV, as Polish Jewish Community is very clear about why they asked to remove the video. --00:06, 23 February 2018 (UTC)212.93.55.34 (talk)
- What part of "The Union of Jewish Communities in Poland and the Jewish Community of Warsaw strongly condemn the film created by the Ruderman Family Foundation. We will never agree for the use of the phrase 'Polish Holocaust'. It is false and hurtful. We also do not agree with the new bill concerning the Institute of National Remembrance, however the answer to it cannot be a hate campaign. We have demanded that Youtube and Facebook delete this video, as it misleads the international community" means "they were attempting to remove Germany from responsibility"? –Skywatcher68 (talk) 14:29, 23 February 2018 (UTC)
- The inclusion of text relating to the video's ultimate removal, as well as the inclusion of the foundation's statement in regards to its removal, largely explains that it was not well received from all sides. I think it is fair to say that this issue can fall under WP:OUTRAGE, and as such, should avoid using weasel words in describing the reception of various groups. --HunterM267 ❯ talk 16:41, 23 February 2018 (UTC)
"The fact that there was no official national government during German occupation makes the law rather silly." - I think you are wrong here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_government-in-exile --> there WAS official national government, maybe Germans did not acknowledge it, but it is Polish people responsibility to choose who is their government, not German. The government was selected with holding the rules written in Polish constitution from 1935. So please, as long as you know Polish history well, don't try to "fix" it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.105.24.61 (talk) 08:25, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
REFBOMB
[edit]This WP:BROCHURE article has a bad case of WP:REFBOMB, specifically Citations that name drop reliable sources
. Instead of using sources as citations for content, the numerous citations have been used to name drop. I reworked the sections Link20, Disability inclusion, Ruderman Prize in Inclusion, and the first two paragraphs of the "white paper" section. The rest of the "white paper" section needs to be edited for the same symptoms. And the last 4 sections should be looked at, especially "Awards and recognition" which is basically uncited. Pic
[edit]Why does this page have a pic of Jay but not of the foundation? 2604:2D80:C00:5C00:4DEB:66B5:9F61:16CE (talk) 11:06, 23 August 2024 (UTC)
