Needs sorting.
[edit]You can't be in the Royal Navy and the Merchant Navy simultaneously. I think this bit should be the other way round. IIMSS, his spell in Borstal ought to be expanded upon, and the loss of the tip of a finger explained. Edith Waring (talk) 18:47, 16 May 2015 (UTC)
When and why the name Russ Conway?
[edit]I was prompted to look at this article by the recent death of Russ Conway (journalist) who was born Russell G. Conway but not until 1949 so it would seem unlikely that Trevor Herbert Stanford, born 1925, would choose a stage name because of him (apart from having no reason that I can imagine to make such a choice). The fact that this pianist was so famous by this stage name that the article about this name (not appended by a profession in parentheses) is about him and not about the journalist means that his choice of the name is surely quite important. Maybe it is a mystery why he chose this name; but I would have thought that something would be known about when Trevor Stanford came to choose the name Russ Conway as that by which he wished to be known to the public as a pianist, and also that somebody would have tried to find out why he chose the name, and told us. I think we should be told!
