Last hand fired coal burner
[edit]I corrected the article. The cement carrier S.T. Crapo was the last hand fired coal burner in operation on the Great Lakes when she was converted to oil firing over her 1994/1995 winter lay-up. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.242.2.150 (talk) 22:27, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
The Boatnerd history page on the S.T. Crapo is incorrect. She had recieved mechanical stokers years before she was converted to oil firing in the twilight of her career in the mid 1990's. I've reverted my edit. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.242.2.150 (talk) 23:47, 24 August 2011 (UTC)

- aka the Chief → nicknamed the Chief. I also recommend adding this in the "Ship nickname" section of the infobox.
- Done
- Change "home" ported to "based".
- Done
- Change all instances of the Chief to Chief Wawatam. See this discussion regarding the usage of the definite article in front of ship's name.
- Done
- The article uses both "she" and "it" to refer to the vessel. Both words are acceptable, but they should be consistent throughout the article.
- Done
- Recommend removing all instances of SS from the lead and body.
- Done
- No need to have Skull Cave in italics.
- Done
- Recommend changing "this service ended in 1984 and the Chief lay in mothballs for four years in Mackinaw City" to "this service ended in 1984, when Chief Wawatam was laid up for four years in Mackinaw City".
