based on this article, http://www.vvdailypress.com/news/20170319/bear-valley-bike-path-complete

it sounds like the transportation division was renamed. I am going to have to look at the the minutes/agenda from SANBAG to see what has happened. From the sounds of it, it sounds like sanbag is dead as an agency since it was two thing according to their about page:

  • known as SANBAG, is the council of governments and transportation planning agency for San Bernardino County. SANBAG is responsible for cooperative regional planning and furthering an efficient multi-modal transportation system countywide. SANBAG serves the 2.1 million residents of San Bernardino County.
  • As the County Transportation Commission, SANBAG supports freeway construction projects, regional and local road improvements, train and bus transportation, railroad crossings, call boxes, ridesharing, congestion management efforts and long-term planning studies. SANBAG administers Measure I, the half-cent transportation sales tax approved by county voters in 1989.

if it is two things, then should this page be updated as a defunct agency? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.184.116.132 (talk) 05:11, 30 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. Instead start new articles on these new agencies if they are notable, and just update the existing article to point to the new articles and describe the demise of this one. And the new articles of course to point to this one and describe their relationships to it. Covers all bases. Andrewa (talk) 07:35, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
