Background[edit]

Ynhockey, don't you think it should be mentioned that Israel occupied Sinai and Golan in the background section? Now it just says "Egypt and Syria launched a war against Israel" without mentioning that Israel occupied regions in these two countries. This is not neutral and its cherry picking of history. --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 12:53, 29 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I do believe that some background on the Six-Day War should be provided, but simply mentioning that "Israel occupied regions in these two countries" is also "not neutral and its cherry picking of history". The current section provides just the immediate background for the battle, the rest of which is provided in the First Battle of Mount Hermon. Feel free to expand the background section, but please try to keep it neutral and consider all points of view. Even better, please write a draft here and we can discuss changes. —Ynhockey (Talk) 01:09, 30 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
"Egypt and Syria launched a war against Israel" is far from the "immediate background". Whoever reads this article maybe doesn't read the first article and even the first article only has one vague sentence: "After its capture in the Six-Day War, Israel used it".
If you feel we should expand the background more then I did, we can ad that before the six day war, Israel sent out tractors to the Syrian border to provoke Syria to shoot which started the war and occupation on the Syrian front:General's Words Shed a New Light on the Golan, The Six-Day War Deceptions. This is highly relevant as it led to the battle of Mount Hermon.
But I believe its enough with what I had added, that when Egypt and Syria attacked Israel in 1973, Israel was already occupying regions in these two countries. Its not much, its expansion of one single sentence, or do you have any other suggestion? --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 17:48, 3 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The edits are acceptable, but please pay more attention to spelling. About the pre-Six-Day War water wars with Syria, first of all, it's more relevant to the first battle, and second of all, Syria is the only country that believed that the Israeli agricultural operations on Israeli territory were somehow unjustified. You put it in a way that supports the Syrian position, which is contrary to WP:NPOV. —Ynhockey (Talk) 16:11, 8 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Source[edit]

LibiBamizrach said in this edit: "it is not according to what the source says", so can LibiBamizrach tell me shat the source says? Give me the full quote. --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 14:16, 17 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Coordinates needed[edit]

Can someone who has access to the relevant sources please add the coordinates of some of the major positions mentioned such as: the outpost itself, the ski lift, tank curve, Hill 1614, Hill 2072 etc. as its very difficult to conceptualize without them.
