The result of the move request was: redirect Seven Isles to Seven Islands. There is no consensus primary topic. – wbm1058 (talk) 13:30, 17 February 2020 (UTC)
Seven Isles (Fort Lauderdale) → Seven Isles – Following the deletion of List of places in The Chronicles of Narnia AfD, the Seven Isles dab page only links to a single eponymous article in Seven Isles (Fort Lauderdale) with an unlinked reference to the fictional realm from Narnia. As such, this is an unnecessary disambiguation page, per WP:TWODABS, as we have a clear primary topic in which we could easily provide a hatnote to the fictional Narnia realm. - This is a contested technical request (permalink). Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:18, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
- @Dmehus, Narky Blert, and Crouch, Swale: queried move request Anthony Appleyard (talk) 22:21, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
- Comment Note, too, that we also have Seven Islands as a dab page and that Narky Blert tells me isles and islands are often used interchangeably on dab pages. Doug Mehus T·C 19:16, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
- Support (treating this as if it were a controversial request). Seven Isles (Fort Lauderdale) seems to be the only actual location known by that specific name. The fictional location is merely a redirect. The actual location is IMO therefore WP:PTOPIC. Everything else can be handled though the DAB page Seven Islands and a hatnote.
- The argument I made to Dmehus was essentially that "Isle of X" and "X Island" are sometimes (though by no means always) interchangeable, and that it makes little sense to have two DAB pages on what are essentially variants of the same name.
- For an analogous example, see Lenore Lake and Lake Lenore (a DAB page). Narky Blert (talk) 19:39, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
- Narky Blert When you say you support treating this as a controversial request, did you mean treating it as an uncontroversial request, even if, perhaps technically, it may not be, for which you provided an analogous example? Or, did you mean to say you are opposing this request? Doug Mehus T·C 19:48, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
- Reading your whole reply again, I can see it's definitely the former, not the latter. Apologies for the confusion. Doug Mehus T·C 19:50, 7 February 2020 (UTC)
- I thought there might be a clue in the word "support". Narky Blert (talk) 20:05, 7 February 2020 (UTC)

Supportbut put a hatnote to the Seven Islands DAB from Seven Isles, I just added the only other item on the Seven Isles DAB to the Seven Islands DAB. Crouch, Swale (talk) 19:54, 7 February 2020 (UTC) And yes we indeed do often combine similar terms that are interchangeable per WP:DABCOMBINE so indeed I don't see the need for 2 DABs either. Crouch, Swale (talk) 20:09, 7 February 2020 (UTC)- Neutral per Amakuru. Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:21, 11 February 2020 (UTC)
- Support. Every Google result on the first page relates to the Fort Lauderdale neighborhood: "Seven Isles" -wikipedia. Colin Gerhard (talk) 10:45, 9 February 2020 (UTC)
- That must be a regional thing - when I run the same search as you from the UK, there is no mention of the Florida place until eighth hit (see [1]) and it doesn't feature that heavily in the results. — Amakuru (talk) 10:00, 11 February 2020 (UTC)
- From the UK I also get most results for the Florida one and the Florida one is shown on the right with a map and info from Wikipedia. Crouch, Swale (talk) 10:08, 11 February 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose and redirect Seven Isles to Seven Islands per Narky Blert. The two terms are basically synonymous, and this small and barely notable neighborhood is not the primary topic for this quite general term. See for example [2][3] referencing the Seven Islands of Bombay as "isles", including [4] which indicates there was a 1945 film using that name. Also Freya of the Seven Isles, currently a redlink but a notable book by Joseph Conrad. This is simply an alternative name situation. — Amakuru (talk) 09:45, 11 February 2020 (UTC)
