"Two such paedophiles [from Artane] went on to be hung for child murder in Canada." Really and what were their names and what were the names of the children they murdered??

There was a major police investigation into Artane that went on for years and involved over a dozen Gardai. The Garda investigation and all court cases are now finished. The result was ONE Brother convicted of indecent assault in Artane. Indecent assault means indecent fondling not rape. Kilbarry1 (talk) 18:17, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Child abuse is not necessarily Child sexual abuse

[edit]

The section on Ireland, before my edit on 10.09.24 had nothing on child sexual abuse itself. It mentioned court cases on how child sexual abuse was handled in court as regards giving out names of the accused and a relevant but not precise reference to the Irish Child abuse Commission. The issue is that the Commission, which is here: ( https://childabusecommission.ie ), also investigates physical abuse such as beatings. It is disingenuous to include accounts of the entire Christian Brothers establishment when the article is looking into specifically Child sexual abuse. I gave the numbers from a June 2024 report by the Irish government: ( https://www.amri.ie/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Report-of-the-Scoping-Inquiry-Full-Report.pdf ) which I quoted, cited and linked.
