Talk:Shion Uzuki
Name
[edit]Does anyone know where Shion's Japanese name comes from? Even the official website simply prints out her name in katakana (シオン ウズキ), so I was curious. --Remy Suen 20:08, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
Supposedly it's from a flower. I myself would like to know where this realm of imaginary number stuff comes from, since I don't recall it from the games. Z98
- The imaginary number realm was mentioned in the EpI database, it's described in more detail in the DS game. It'll be expanded on in EpIII. As for Shion's name, Soraya Saga said she was named after a flower. (PhoenixStrike 06:39, 23 July 2006 (UTC))
- Yes, I understand that her name comes from a flower, but is this the name in Kanji that Soraya Saga gave when talking about the game? Is this name in kanji given in some official guidebook or something? Should we not stick to official "spellings", per se? --Remy Suen 11:11, 23 July 2006 (UTC)
- I'm afraid I don't know about the kanji. She was typing in english at the time she gave this information. (PhoenixStrike 17:37, 23 July 2006 (UTC))
- I was wondering, Shouldn't Shion's name be in katakana? That's how it is in the Japanese versions of the game =/ I've never seen her name in kanji, I think. Just wondering...--melodiester 01:08, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
- For what it's worth, I could only find one Kanji spelling of Shion that referenced a flower (紫苑, btw, the name on the page has the wrong kanji). Maybe it should be given as both kanji and katakana, with a note that the kanji spelling is an educated guess based on Soraya Saga's mentioning that it was after a flower? 71.110.132.145 05:03, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
- Until someone can provide an official reference citing Shion's kanji name, I'm changing it to the katakana, since that's how it's displayed everywhere in the actual game and in game-related materials. -Rikoshi 18:34, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
