Updated funding and acquisitions

[edit]

The details in this wiki page seem quite old from 2016? Since then Simpro received additional private equity funding of $350 million USD in 2021 and subsequently acquired two additional companies - Australian job management software platform AroFlo, and US time-sheeting platform ClockShark.

Addition of funding and acquisition information, and updated company office locations

[edit]
  • What I think should be changed (include citations): Add more recent funding and acquisition information.

"In 2021, Simpro received additional private equity funding of US$350 million and subsequently acquired two additional companies - Australian field service management software platform AroFlo, and US time tracking platform ClockShark. Reuters reported that the funding round valued the company at more than US$1 billion. In 2024, Simpro acquired UK-based field service management company BigChange from private equity firm Great Hill Partners."

Sources for US$350 million investment and valuation:

Sources for AroFlo and ClockShark acquisitions:

Sources for BigChange acquisition:

  • Why it should be changed: The existing article information cuts off at 2016, but the company has made several acquisitions and received greater funding since then.

  • What I think should be changed (include citations): The sentence "Simpro offices are located in each of these countries, with the most recent office opening for operation in The Netherlands." is incorrect. It should be updated to "Simpro has offices in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and the United Kingdom." (Current list of office locations is at https://www.simprogroup.com/contact-us)
  • Why it should be changed: Simpro no longer has offices in Singapore or The Netherlands.

  • What I think should be changed (include citations): The article currently says Simpro "provides cloud-based job and project management software". It would be more accurate to say "cloud-based field service management (FSM) software" - and could link to the relevant Wikipedia page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Field_service_management
  • Why it should be changed: Field service management is more encompassing terminology, as Simpro doesn't focus solely on project management or job management.

Hi,
A few issues here...
1) You haven't disclosed your conflict of interest, as required by WP:DISCLOSE.
2) Funding information is not of encyclopaedic value.
3) Crunchbase does not appear to be a reliable independent source. Please provide better quality sources.
4) The sources for the acquisition of BigChange appear to be regurgitated press releases and are thus non-independent sources. Please provide better quality sources.
5) Re: FSM, you will need to provide independent sourcing for this comment, it cannot simply be a link to another Wikipedia article describing what FSM means.

I have implemented the requested change re: the company offices. The rest of the request currently cannot be implemented for the reasons given above. Axad12 (talk) 07:37, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
