Broad scope for improvement for this article
[edit]Given then subject matter and the wealth of information potentially accumulable on it, I am surprised by the lack of effort to develop this sketchy piece into a high-quality article (say, A-status — which is not unachievable (see, e.g., article Ilaiyaraaja)). I encourage participants of Tamil literature/culture/arts Wikigroups to consider shaping this one up because it's easy to make it top-notch... what's required is the plowing in of time for research, mostly. Popularity - Opinion polls
[edit]Hi, I removed this section because to me, it violates the Neutral point of view policy. A whole section about how fantastic Ganesan is (even if true) seems a little over the top. Aside from the fact that the section isn't referenced properly ("Another survey conducted by Loyola college in 2008" is not a reference), parts of it seem to be original research ("it could be possible that MGR", "all these actors couldn't match the charm and fame of Sivaji & of course MGR - even today") and it's poorly written ("survey was clubbed with a political opinion poll", "reaffirming Sivaji Ganesan’s supremacy", etc). Can these concerns please be addressed, rather than simply reverting? I know you're trying to improve the article, but that edit decreases the quality of the article. What does the V stand for?
[edit]Even though some sources say it is Viluppuram, according to Sivaji's son Ramkumar it stands for stands for Vettaithidal, the family's ancestral village. Perhaps a footnote could be added to solve this confusion. --Kailash29792 (talk) 05:42, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
- Cyphoidbomb, what do you suggest? --Kailash29792 (talk) 06:15, 6 August 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Kailash29792, I think your proposal makes perfect sense. Personally, I would tend to support the kid's understanding, but letting the reader decide is probably the way to go. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 14:02, 6 August 2019 (UTC)
