The suribachi and surikogi arrived from China after the turn of the last millennium.

We've had a suribachi in my family kitchen since I was in high school or college (in the '60s and 70s), and we aren't Asian, so it wasn't sent to us by relatives. I did grow up in San Francisco, though, but this is still wrong for the U.S. Also, if the writer was referring to another country, or any country, I guess, they really should say which one. Thanks. Ah, my bad. I guess the writer was talking about Japan. Is it possible that we in the U.S. would have had these 50 years before the did?Zlama 06:34, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unnecessary article[edit]

Dare I ask why this deserves its own article? It's a stub, and not for lack of editors; there's nothing else to say. This should be merged into the mortar and pestle article. We don't have articles for every country's peculiar spoon style. -98.228.254.203 (talk) 18:57, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
