GA review
[edit]I considered this article for a review. Comments coming soon. Thank you. --Efe (talk) 08:25, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
- Comments
The article is in good shape. However, there are some sentences that are not clear that I have to dig it over and over again and for non-familiar with the subject and other bands mentioned, there are a lot of contexts to establish.
- Delimit the genres with a comma
- Same through with the labels
- I think it would be better to add years when each members joined and when former members parted from the group.
- In the lead or infobox? Not sure what you're asking. dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- yeah. --Efe (talk) 09:35, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah to lead or to infobox? dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:10, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Ooops! Sorry. in the infobox, of course. --Efe (talk) 10:22, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- I added a link to the timeline section instead. dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:26, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Ooops! Sorry. in the infobox, of course. --Efe (talk) 10:22, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah to lead or to infobox? dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:10, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- yeah. --Efe (talk) 09:35, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- In the lead or infobox? Not sure what you're asking. dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- Currently is carried already in the present tense of consist.
- What is a cover band? Any link?
- Identify Warner as a record label.
- Identify Imaginate as their debut album; same through with the following albums.
- Done in some cases (where appropriate). dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- Spell out ARIA.
- I think this is fine: "...and released their debut album, Imaginate in 1999; this was followed by 2002's Garage Mahal."
- "This was followed by 2002's Garage Mahal. Both albums were certified platinum by ARIA." These sentences are stubby.
- Not really sure how to fix it, any ideas?
- The band released their third album, Axiomatic, in 2005, which…
- "Taxiride's musical style has been changed…" Tense?
- pop-pub
- No, it's two different things (pop and pub are two separate genres; check the wlinks). dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- …had each played in cover bands around Melbourne, Australia.
- Redundant linking of Melbourne.
- Why is Taxiride quoted?
- …in Los Angeles, United States…
- If you don't know where LA is the wlink can tell you... dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- ..on their debut album.
- I think it would be better to not use number sign.
- Identify Hot Modern Rock Tracks.
- Where the album was certified double platinum?
- "Taxiride wrote the majority of the album in a studio, and the final product generally used songs that band members had worked on individually." This should be in the first para under the pop success section.
- Why? dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- Becuase you mentioned their about the producer; this is all about production so better add them there. =) --Efe (talk) 09:35, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Why? dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- "earned a moderate reception" moderate here is vague.
- All Music Guide's new name is Allmusic.
- When did it change? I think it was AMG at the time, and I like that name... :) dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- me too, I like that name. But it was changed. Look at the AMG's page. --Efe (talk) 09:35, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- All replaced. dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:10, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- me too, I like that name. But it was changed. Look at the AMG's page. --Efe (talk) 09:35, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

- Identify the Beatles.
- Identify Airway Lanes.
- …and began work on their second album…

- At least we well know where that album was release. --Efe (talk) 09:35, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

- Here: and produced three singles; "Creepin' Up Slowly" --Efe (talk) 09:35, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- No idea where... dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- "All three songs charted in Australia, with "Creepin' Up Slowly" reaching #6, and charting in New Zealand." This is somewhat confusing. And the word chart is repeated.
- Better? dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- Where Garage Mahal and "Creepin' Up Slowly" were certified? And, if possible, supply the number of sales.
- in Victoria, Australia…

- "Australian Musician put this down to them spending too much time overseas." Huh?
- What's the issue here? I'm not sure... dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- That "put his down" is unclear. --Efe (talk) 09:35, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hmm, it's an Aussie phrase. Reworded. dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:10, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- That "put his down" is unclear. --Efe (talk) 09:35, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
- What's the issue here? I'm not sure... dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- And what is Australian Musician?
- Reword hadn't in full.
- "being a good deal heavier"?
- Reworded. dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- "Glauber described the overall high quality of songs" is kinda broken and high here is somewhat POVic.
- Reworded. dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- "that the band did not hold back in their aim for American radio" any clearer presentation?
- I dunno, any ideas? dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hmp.. Ok now. --Efe (talk) 09:35, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

- Who is Chris Bailey? And The Saints?
- "who took time out from working with Airway Lanes" is this the very reason why he joined again Taxiride?
- Yes, does it need to be made more clear? dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- Identify as their third album Axiomatic
- Again, where was it released?
- …shortly after the album's lead (or first) single…
- …to make an album that would better reflect…
- "In creating Axiomatic, Taxiride worked independently, moving away from record labels in an attempt to make an album that better reflected the music they wanted to produce." Some part of this would be better mentioned in the preceding para so as to support the splitting issue or was the "attempt" the reason of the split?
- Good point. Thinking about how to work this. dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- Identify Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin

- It's general practice to name notable groups they've worked with... dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- "Taxiride are primarily…" In the lead, its Taxiride is… Be consistent. Especially with "the band is" and "the band are", and "the band has" and "the band have".

- Who is Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young?

- Who is the writer/reviewer of International Herald Tribune?

- Stuff that isn't replied to is done. Thanks for the review! :) Just as a note, sometimes when you suggest an improvement (eg. "..on their debut album.") it's hard to know what you're referring to... this might help you become a better reviewer in future. Cheers, dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) 10:37, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for the suggestion. --Efe (talk) 09:35, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
