I disagree with the renaming of this article from Template (racing) to Template (auto racing). A template can be applied in a racing series where the vehicles are not automobiles. I deliberately picked the more general term for this article. Royalbroil Talk  Contrib 21:02, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies; I didn't realise that the article was meant to have wider scope. Perhaps you might add a couple of explanatory sentences and/or add a non-auto racing example...?  Best wishes, David Kernow (talk) 08:14, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have been trying to think of a specific example of a non-automobile series that uses templates, but I can't think of any. There are many non-automobile series that have rules defining dimensions, but I can't think of any that are picky enough to require template. There certainly is potential for several of them to adopt templates at any time, especially some of the world's top motorcycle series. I can't think of anything that I can add to the article that is not my opinion or original research. I disagreed based on the potential usage. Cheers!
