– If a group plays their instruments, Wikipedia normally refers to them as a "band" rather than a "group", which is normally for singers only (see, for example, Muse (band) but TLC (group)), and these terms are used as disambiguators if needed. However, the Buoys were clearly also a band, so nationalities are required in order to differentiate between the two bands' articles on Wikipedia.
