Do we have any idea of when this person is supposed to have done these things? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.52.4.156 (talk) 08:07, 16 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Theodora is said to have lived in the 400s, however, my sense is that the story of this person is likely apocryphal, as is the case with many other early saints and martyrs. I have seen some scholarly articles mention in passing that Theodora's story may have first been written down in the 6th century, though I'm still searching for a thorough discussion of its sources in a language I can read. clarification?

[edit]

Theodora commits adultery with some guy, and out of remorse, flees her husband's house and hides out in a monastery disguised as a monk. At least that's the story. Why is this Theodora of any particular interest to LGBT studies? Just asking. (Cross-dressing seems a bit of a stretch.) Manannan67 (talk) 01:50, 23 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Because crossdressing is covered by this project. Dimadick (talk) 12:08, 23 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
