Philip J. Fry
[edit]I was just watching this episode and as the boys' were going through the comic, it showed a man that turned into the radioactive Man. He looks very much like Fry from the Futurama. Is it just for the fact that they share the same creator? Norum (talk) 00:40, 1 February 2009 (UTC)
Unreferenced
[edit]Here's some unreferenced stuff I have removed from the article for now:
Cultural references
[edit]- Fallout Boy (Radioactive Man’s sidekick) is an obvious parody of Batman’s young sidekick, Robin.
- Milhouse initially goes into the comic store to buy a 1973 Topps card of the former Boston Red Sox great, Carl Yastrzemski. “when he had the big sideburns.” Carl’s 1973 Topps card in real life does indeed show him with distinctive sideburns.
- When the boys first unwrap the comic ibook, Martin describes it as "The stuff dreams are made of," which is how Bogart's character describes the Falcon at the end of the movie, The Maltese Falcon.
- Homer says "Well, T.S.!" as a put-down to Bart; this is possibly an acronym of "tough shit", a rare incidence of implied swearing on The Simpsons.
Re: Maltese Falcon: If we were to see any statue of a bird, we d certainly need a reference. The sentence "The stuff dreams ... " on the other hand, is quite famous, and very clearly from "The Maltese Falcon (1941 film)". Not every obvious little thing needs to be refed! I put it back in. Also the bit about the Red Sox-player, sans the part about his real existing card (here: no ref). Regards, 176.0.108.245 (talk) 11:49, 28 May 2015 (UTC)
Michelangelo picture
[edit]That has to be the stupidest barely-related picture on a Simpsons article yet, and it's up against some pretty stiff opposition. Good work raising that bar! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.210.53.138 (talk) 11:32, 9 September 2011 (UTC)
Bart's Inner Monologue
[edit]After Marge tells the story about how she worked as a slave for her sisters Bart has an inner monologue about getting a part time job. Does anyone know where this is from? 193.253.236.69 (talk) 20:13, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
