This article is written in Hong Kong English, which has its own spelling conventions (colour, realise, travelled) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus.
The Police Relatives Connection, in my opinion, should be considered as being part of the related movements in the protests. SCMP and The New York Times both note that their demands do overlap in the area of supporting an independent inquiry into police violence (one of the five core demands) and being treated with suspicion by the authorities as a result. Two of the core organizers interviewed, Sunny in the Times article and Joey Li in the SCMP article have both taken part in the protests and said they both have relatives (in this case their spouses) in the police. I've modified the first few parts of this article due to a significant amount of original research and missing citations. I've also changed the word "democracy activist" to "protesters" when in context of an protest. There's also some weasel wording and unfounded statements found, which should either be rewritten as a factual statement, or removed if its not an established fact.
