ECS Triathlon

[edit]

I added a note saying that gold, silver and bronze medal for men's competition are licenced at ECS Triathlon and put a reference Le Monde 18/10/2012 Sartrouville usine à champions , which is first French newspaper and is quite rare to notice that article was 2 months after the event, My addition was reverted twice without any reason. So I think this should be kept as there is proper reference Lpele (talk) 19:41, 14 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I can't speak to why it was reverted but I'm tempted to remove it as well. This detail feels irrelevant and a bit promotional in relation to the article topic. BarkeepChat 20:24, 14 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
do you have any example of any sport where the 3 olympics medals were won by athletes of the same club ?Lpele (talk) 20:28, 14 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure if your question is rhetorical or not, but if there is such research/references available to support such a claim It would be interesting to see. However, by going in that direction there is an implication of a correlation between the winning an Olympic medal and being on this particular sponsored French club when in fact this was not the case. BarkeepChat 20:59, 14 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Why do you think most international athletes joined this club ? it is not for money, its budget is 3 times less than the one of Poissy town (which is 10 km away). But because they think they can improve and have more chances to win medal : 18 members of this club were qualified to Triathlon at the 2016 Summer Olympics (but 2 were injured). See for example what Gwen Jorgessen said before Rio 2016 where she won gold medal :[1] which means "young french women helps me to overperform", Le Monde article cited early explained that french "Grand Prix" contest is good to enhance athlete performance.Lpele (talk) 21:53, 14 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think its necessary. Its a good bit of information for the club article, but its highly promotional on this page. Sportsfan 1234 (talk) 23:26, 14 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
