Evaluative claims and generalisations
[edit]There are sentences in article that are unnecessarily evaluative, like:
- "There is some contention by exploiters that exploiting should not be considered cheating as it is merely taking advantage of actions allowed by the software." - you do not have to use exploits to not consider exploits as cheats,
- "Players that do not exploit believe that exploits should be considered cheats that the developers should address and the exploiters should be banned." - using exploits (or not) isn't relevant to consider exploit and cheat separate terms and different (malicious or not) activities.
It divides players into two sides: those who not consider themselves as cheaters and those who consider them cheaters. This is unprovable and easily refutable (there are those who don't use exploits yet don't consider users as cheaters). Nattfarinn (talk) 12:48, 27 May 2021 (UTC)
Exploits in a single player non-competitive games
[edit]Impact of exploit varies between online games and single player offline games. Using exploits is not necessarily malicious activity and is often considered "OK-ish" in speedruns community. It is worth rephrasing article to distinguish malicious action (done mostly to gain unfair advantage) from those less malicious nature. Some developers even put easter eggs out of bounds and partially encourage looking out of the box (desert eagle armed teddy bear in CoD: MW3, GTA sign: "You weren't supposed to be able to get here you know" and many others).
