Does anyone know if this is the same Vittorio Giannini who wrote a number of company songs for IBM in the 1930's, including something called the "IBM Symphony". See http://www-03.ibm.com/ibm/history/exhibits/music/music_IS1.html rchrd (talk) 03:02, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Referencing

[edit]

I assume that User:NicholasNotabene is a relatively new editor who does not understand that there is not a single uniform citation style used across Wikipedia. I have already referred him in my edit summary to WP:CITEVAR, Parenthetical referencing, and WP:HOWTOCITE. I am perfectly willing to discuss with him anything further about these matters. The established citation style used in this article since 30 June 2010 has been "Harvard style" (also called "parenthetical referencing" and "author-date citations". This is amply documented at the mentioned articles, as is the protocol for seeking consensus to change a citation style, if there is a good reason to do so.—Jerome Kohl (talk) 01:18, 1 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe you'd like to explain to me why when I'm trying top add inline references, which are more helpful, you keep reverting my changes. The article is full of "citation needed" notes. The minute I try to begin adding needed references, you keep deleting them and changing them back??? NicholasNotabene (talk) 01:25, 1 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Have you read my notice, just above this one? More importantly, have you read the three articles I have directed you to, both here and in an edit summary? FWIW, there are exactly three "cittion needed" tags and, if memory serves, I was the editor who placed them.—Jerome Kohl (talk) 01:28, 1 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

OK, great, you don't want me to edit the article. You don't want me to add citations. You don't want me to add information. I will leave it alone. It's NICE that the article has holes that have needed citations for the last five years. But somehow after five years, the minute I make edits (literally), that's a problem. I went researching Giannini just to add some information to the piece.; But I won't disturb your article, if you are proprietary about it. Let Wikipedia users look elsewhere for info on Giannini, just as I had to. NicholasNotabene (talk) 01:39, 1 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Typos

[edit]

By the way, when you insisted on reverting my changes, you also reintroduced two typographical errors that were there when I started. See if you can find them. I won't correct them myself, as I expect any fixes I might attempt to make to this article to be promptly unfixed. NicholasNotabene (talk) 02:06, 1 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
