TIME cover[edit]

Wendy Anderson on the cover of TIME

It is a pretty silly looking picture, but the photo of Gov. Anderson on the cover of TIME should be included at some point. —Mulad (talk) 04:30, July 17, 2005 (UTC)

how did it happen?[edit]

How did Anderson become senator? The story should be fleshed out. 71.34.12.79

Why did he resign?[edit]

He lost the election and was due to leave office in less than a week. Yet he resigns? Why? DavidRF (talk) 01:22, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know, but I suspect it was to give his successor a week additional seniority over others elected at the same time.--Appraiser (talk) 12:50, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
He was DFL. Boschwitz was IR. Boschwitz beat him in the election. Why would he help him out? Plus, that seems like "cheating". We'd hear about this happening much more often if that was why he did it. What did the local papers say that week? I'd like the clear this up because the Boschwitz article is very confusing... stating that he both beat Anderson in the election and was appointed to succeed him. Its made doubly confusing because the other senate election that year (Durenberger) *was* a special election which makes readers think there might be something special about the Boschwitz/Anderson election as well. As far as I know, this was a standard Class 2 election. DavidRF (talk) 15:21, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Boschwitz did best him in the election, and then after Anderson resigned, Boschwitz was appointed by the Governor to the post to fill out the last week of the term. I'll try to find a reference for the reason Anderson resigned.--Appraiser (talk) 15:42, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
