[edit]Has he ever had a real job? One that wasnt publicly funded? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.178.9.181 (talk) 23:13, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Politicians, government advisors and government agency workers (to name a few) are all funded by the public. Are you saying these aren't "real jobs"? :/--DandanxD (talk) 10:31, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
- To the original IP poster of the comment, he has worked on commercial radio stations such as Triple M so in that respect he has had a "real job" as well as being a contributor to various newspapers and magazines.--Mikecraig (talk) 22:39, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
I dleted this sentence under his personal life as it doesn't seem very relevant
He is often mistaken for fellow comedian Adam Hills and vice versa despite the fact Adam Hills has a prosthetic leg and Wil is often wearing thongs. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.0.223.243 (talk) 03:27, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Atheism
[edit]Wil often talks about his atheism in his shows.
I have added reliable, published sources for his atheism using an inline citation linked to the infobox. ABC and The Age are not examples of tabloid journalism. I have also added an interview with Wil with 'Ardent Atheist'. I was also able to find a Facebook post:
- Anderson, Wil (1 April 2012), I've always thought being a single, childless, atheist has really held me back in becoming PM. Well that and the drug use and dick jokes... (Facebook post)
but this has been deemed not reliable and I have removed.
Clare. (talk) 21:28, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback @Clare. The quotes from the sources are as follows.
- "While I'm not a believer, Jarrod is the kind of god-botherer I enjoyed being bothered by." Bedding, Chris (20 May 2014). "Cranky Christians against asylum seeker cruelty". Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Archived from the original on 28 May 2014.
- "If the world truly does have an intelligent design, why is everything so f---ed?" Lallo, Michael (5 April 2007). "Wil to Succeed". The Age. Fairfax Media. Archived from the original on 25 October 2012.
- "I don't believe, but I'm not an active non-believer—I'm not an Ardent Athiest... I think here [in the United States] I would be more ardent." Anderson, Wil (23 January 2013). "Episode 100, featuring: Wil Anderson" (Interview). Interviewed by Henderson, Heather and Emery, Emery. Retrieved 20 February 2016.

Non of these quotes satisfy WP:BLP. The quote need to be clear and unambiguous such as "I am an atheist" he also need to be talking about Will the person not Will the performer.
These quotes are ambiguous eg Will is not a believer in Jarrod's god. The second quote is a question. I am not an ardent atheist. The last one is a famous Julia Gillard quote he has recycled for his comedy performance. I have removed these cites. CamV8 (talk) 00:07, 20 February 2016 (UTC)
- Hi CamV8, I have modified to say 'does not believe in God' as this fits his direct quotes. I believe this is the same as atheist. According to the Wikipedia article: "Atheism is, in a broad sense, the rejection of belief in the existence of deities", but I'm trying to meet you in the middle here. Clare.
