I think Young is in an excessive number of categories. I do not believe all of them are significant to him. I believe we should look for a way to have him in fewer categories.John Pack Lambert (talk) 19:20, 7 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay so you "think" he's in too many, with nothing substantive to back this up. There is no rule or limit on how many categories an article can be. In fact, per Wikipedia:Categorization#Articles: The defining characteristics of an article's topic are central to categorizing the article. A defining characteristic is one that reliable sources commonly and consistently refer to in describing the topic, such as the nationality of a person or the geographic location of a place. For example, Italian and artist are defining characteristics of Caravaggio, and so of the article on him, because virtually all reliable sources on the topic mention them. Coaches of sports are always, always, always, always, always written about where they've coached, where they are currently coaching, and rumors about where they might coach next. This is an immediately qualifying defining characteristic of them, which is a big "DO" in Wikipedia:Categorization dos and don'ts. SportsGuy789 (talk) 04:50, 8 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
