Untitled[edit]

Concerning the Template, where are you getting information to refrence the world under Shaburnigdo as the Red Orb? Is this how it is reffered to in the manga, or is it how Kanzakadex does it? ControversialMatt 16:55, 24 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

We at KanzakaDex do not use names such as the "Red Orb" to refer to the worlds. Still, it looks quite self-evident: The names of both Ruby Eye Shabranigdo and Flare Dragon Ceiphied refer to red, just as Dark Star Dubradigdu and Night Dragon Vorfeed refer to black, Chaotic Blue to blue, and Death Fog to white. I think QP/Diana, who had wide access to the original japanese material used these "colorisations" first, but I do not know whether she took them from an official source or not. --Pip25 11:44, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Xellos's profile can greatly be added to, especially in the "Slayers Try" section. There is a lot more to Xellos within the series and the manga that can be added without being subjective. -Mafiosostory

While it seems plausable, I do believe that when Xellos has been seen bleeding (such as when he was injured by Valgaab in Try) that he truly was injured and bleeding, and it was no illusion.

What do you mean by "truly"? A mazoku's physical body in Slayers is made up and held together by its own magical power. Xellos' projection is very detailed, it can be damaged just like in the case of a normal human, but he can repair it with a mere thought. The term "illusion" in the article refers to this. When he was damaged by Valgaav in Try, both his physical projection and his true astral body were hurt. Therefore he was bleeding, but his main problem was that his astral form were damaged to the extent that he could not repair his physical projection, hence the vertical cut which remained on his visible body.--Pip25 15:09, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I wonder, Xellos is usually seen drinking tea and sometimes eating cake, so does this mean he can make his physical projection feel the sense of taste?, and also his astral body can feel pain but can it also eat?

As a mazoku, Xelloss cannot use human food as a source of nourishment. But his physical projection can give him the sense of taste, so he can eat food/drink tea merely out of enjoyment. --Pip25 15:55, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the new sections[edit]

I must say it was strange (and flattering) to see the KanzakaDex article copied here like this, why not copy-paste it then I wonder? (Or doesn't the license permit it?) Anyway, I cut the huge sentences into smaller ones, as the current form was painful to the eye. A couple of questions and requests:

  • What should the "Dark Priest Staff" mean? Xelloss uses a staff in his human form, which is actually part of himself as the rest of his projection; what is so important about it?
  • Could we please stop adding the "torturing little animals and eating Filia's negative emotions" into Love interests? First, it is inappropriate, second, it is simply untrue; Xelloss never tortured little animals, I have no idea where that came from. --Pip25 09:40, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Concerning copy-pasting: I originally did this because I was working on this (and other Slayers wiki-pages) at work, and could simply not afford the time to do more extensive research into the topic. On that note I chose KanzakaDex as my primary source because I had relied on its predicessor, Inverse.org, for most of my Slayers information and I felt that it was propper I use that. --ControversialMatt 04:41, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Age[edit]

No, no, no, no, no, and dang it, no. A person who is able to take out an entire army of dragons 1,012 years ago is not "around 1,012 years old." Gourry makes stupid comments like that; it's his nature. Don't take it as gospel.

I'm sorry; I don't mean to be harsh here. Just my math brain kicking in. If Xellos was taking out dragon armies 1,012 years ago, then in the absence of any indication that he was created around that time, it is proper to assume that he is "over 1,012 years old." If we had any information about Mazoku lifespans, we might be able to make a better estimate, but we can't assume the human minimum and say "At least 1,032 years old" or the like. Please change the age listed to "over 1,012 years old".

Caveat: I'm only familiar with the series, and not even that familiar with TRY. If there is any evidence given in the extended universe or anything that would help us narrow this down, or that indicates that Xellos was created specifically to operate in the War of the Monsters' Fall (and especially to indicate that the War lasted a very short time, which I have never assumed to be the case), then it might be appropriate to say "around 1,012 years" as it currently says. Obviously a powerful mazoku being like this could conceivably be up and kicking butt the day of his creation, so maturation time is not a factor. But in the absence of such data, please change the listing to "over 1,012 years old". Thank you. Kilyle 08:54, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kilyle, we do have some evidence about why and when mazoku priests and generals were created. In fact, in the 7th novel, he said that the Kouma War took place about 12 centuries ago during which he almost sent the dragon's race to its end. That's why he is at least as old as 1200 years old. Then, in the end of the 6th novel, he said that his real name is "xellos the priest". Gender[edit]

Xelloss isn't male, even if he appears so. Mazoku reproduce similarly to single-cell organisms, so "gender" has no meaning for their race. Why people keep adding this back in, I have no idea... --Pip25 (talk) 18:38, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
