Images of the VTOL apparatus

[edit]

What's really interesting about this aircraft is its engine configuration and neither the photograph nor the schematic is doing a good work showing it. It there pictures out there that show really how its engines and nozzles are configured? -- Henriok (talk) 20:07, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There are pictures available in books, and perhaps online also, but most of them won't be copyright-free, so we can't use them here. To be honest, there's not much to the Yak-36's VTOL system - the main image has a good shot of the port nozzle, and the starboard one is identical, with the engine in front of them. The nozzles angled straight down for take-off, and straight back for forward flight - That's all there really is to it. Puffer vents were in the nose, tail, and wingtips for control. - BilCat (talk) 20:56, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
