Killer Instinct Gold
[edit]... that Killer Instinct 2 was planned as a Super Nintendo exclusive, but Nintendo got Gold instead?

- This newly promoted GA is new enough and long enough. The article is neutral and I did not detect any copyright issues. I suggest you redesign the hook however. When I clicked on what I thought was the article to be reviewed I ended up with Killer Instinct 2, a largely unreferenced, copiously-tagged article. Perhaps you could try ALT1, or something different entirely. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:23, 30 August 2015 (UTC)
- ALT1 ...
that Nintendo developed Killer Instinct Gold as a Super Nintendo exclusive with no arcade release planned?
- I went to check this alt and the ref says "Killer Instinct wasn't designed for the home. It was designed to go into the arcades" ... it then says "we released Gold for the N64.". Those five words are all that it says. I'm not sure that supports the hook. I suggest ... Victuallers (talk) 17:24, 5 September 2015 (UTC)

... that although Killer Instinct 2 was intended to work in arcades, Killer Instinct Gold was released for the N64?- That quote comes from this interview, which is talking about the original KI (not the sequel K2, which was ported as KIG). So it's fine that the interview says the original was designed for the arcades (it was), ported to the SNES where it was immensely popular. A sequel for the SNES was first planned, but later dropped and released for the arcade. KIG was a port of the arcade KI2. Sorry for the acronyms, but I hope that clears the confusion. The original hook or an inverted version of it should be fine. – czar 18:17, 5 September 2015 (UTC)
- The interview (not a great source) mentions the word "Gold" once when it says "We actually had Killer Instinct 2 in development for SNES. That was quite far along. There were more frames and it was looking decent. Obviously the Nintendo 64 then came along and we released Gold for the N64." - My understanding is that this bit at least is talking about KS2 and not KS1. Can I suggest another reviewer Victuallers (talk) 09:12, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
- The interview was just being used for the KI2/KIG stuff, as there are other sources in the WP article on the original KI1. This said, I can't find the exclusivity info, so it's fine to go with another hook. Here are some suggestions in lieu of finding another reviewer:
ALT3: ... that Nintendo scrapped a finished Killer Instinct sequel for Killer Instinct Gold?- ALT4: ... that AllGame recommended Killer Instinct Gold for players who want "Mortal Kombat on speed" with a "hyperactive Barry White" announcer?
ALT5: ... that Killer Instinct Gold, the Nintendo 64 sequel to Killer Instinct, featured upgraded graphics and music over its arcade equivalent?

- As per my original review. Going for ALT4, which has an inline citation and solves the problem I had with the original hook. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 05:07, 19 September 2015 (UTC)
