Done - I checked the usage of that category. And it is often used on disambig pages. So I think it is useful here, even though it is not strictly a disambig category. So I added the code for it in the template.

Parameters? Great idea ...[edit]

{{editprotected}} Would it be possible to have callsign added as a parameter option here, for inclusion in Category:Broadcast call sign disambiguation pages? {{callsigndis}} is applied to pages that are exclusively call signs/frequencies/channels/branding. However, on pages that are a mix of those and other items — e.g., ICAO or IATA airport codes, railroad reporting marks, abbreviations for groups and associations, etc. — {{disambig}} is used in conjunction with a manual addition of the category. There's been discussion within Wikipedia:Templates for deletion/Log/2009 May 2#template:church disambig that the currently separate template {{church disambig}} should be merged into this template. It's not quite ready yet: first the TfD needs to close as Keep, and then we are going to have a CfD to change the included category. But, assuming that is done, is this the right place to get agreement that Church disambig can be a subtype of the Disambig template? I don't see much history of discussion here. Or, should it be discussed at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Disambiguation or at wt:disambiguation? doncram (talk) 13:37, 2 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think there is a consensus for the usefulness of adding a 'church' category to this template. The code to add should be:

I think, per some discussion already, that the church category should be more general, to cover other meanings of "churches" such as denominations and congregations, as well as church buildings. Therefore the category should be renamed to Category:Church disambiguation pages and the code to add here should be:

Please wait: first the TfD for the Church should be closed anyhow (avoiding multiple discussions). Then, most important: there is a triangular dependency in these: dab-pages <-> dab-category(s) <-> dab-template(s). Since the topic is DAB, I strongly suggest the DAB-principles should be leading (not the template nor the category). So I think this discussion should be on a dab-talk then (as doncram writes above). Outcome to be be implemented in related cat(s) and template(s) such as this one here, as these are serving to dab and to dab only.

(Detail: There I want to propose there all categories (to be) in this Dabcat have to be renamed systematically. E.g. one of these: cat:Foo disambiguation, cat:Foo disambiguation pages, cat:Disambiguation pages with Foo). Duplicate entries[edit]

Switch values callsign, place name and place names are in the list twice.

There may be a reason for the first one (sorting?) but the others are just duplicates. Doesn't MediaWiki detect this? Am I missing something? If not, can someone cleanup the list?

I was looking at Template:Disambiguation, Template:Disambiguation/doc, and Template:Disambiguation/cat a little while ago, and I found an issue that might have been accidentally caused by a category deletion in conjuction with the move discussed/suggested at Wikipedia talk:Disambiguation/Archive 37#Category:Chemistry disambiguation pages and Category:Molecular formula disambiguation pages; per the doc, the {{Disambiguation|molform}} tag puts the tagged article into the non-existent Category:Molecular formula disambiguation pages; I tested this syntax as well, and found that it did put the article in the aforementioned category. Unfortunately, I am both not very versed in how to find out how this link is happening in the source code for Template:Disambiguation, nor can I edit this template since I am not an administrator. Would someone be able to remove Template:Disambiguation/cat and see if the syntax causing that tag to link to Category:Molecular formula disambiguation pages could be removed?
