Writings[edit]

Beginning in 1980, Guedalia wrote of her experience with neurological patients. In addition to her book, Guedalia is a regular contributor to The Jewish Press and The Jerusalem Post, as well as other medical, scientific, and general publications.[7] [8] [9]

Guedalia's work has been noted for the broader range issues broached and her creative solutions within the clearly defined genre of Jewish medical ethics. Articles on this topic have been published by ASSIA by the Schlesinger Institute.[10] [11]

She often cites the fact that at the time of entering into the fields of Neuropsychology, it was as yet clearly defined as a separate science and her mentor in the field Oliver Sacks helped mold her creative instincts and problem solving aspect in this field. [12] Her descriptions of people coping with and adapting to neurological conditions or injuries often illuminate the ways in which the normal brain deals with perception, memory and individuality.

Guedalia describes her cases with a wealth of narrative detail, concentrating on the experiences of the patient. Her book A Neuropsychologist's Journal: Interventions and "Judi-isms" Guedalia draws on case studies from the areas of neuropsychology as well as developmental, rehabilitation, and medical psychology. The book distills nearly 40 years of Dr. Judith Guedalia’s interventional styles—christened “Judi-isms” by the author—and highlights the intersection between psychology and Judaism.[13]
