East Egg Realty operates in Manhattan, Long Island, and the Hamptons. The company, East Egg Realty, was founded in 2008 by real estate investors, Leslie French & Jonathan Cifuentes, who are local to the North Shore and Manhattan area. In 2010, East Egg Realty was ranked #27 in the Top 30 Residential Brokers by The Real Deal Magazine.[1] East Egg Realty has a strong New Development Department, and their portfolio includes properties such as the recognized Soho Mews found in the heart of Soho, NYC and the sought-after Panoramic View, located at the tip of Long Island, in Montauk, NY. East Egg Realty manages resales, rentals and offers property management throughout Manhattan and Long Island.
Why Is East Egg Realty Named East Egg?[edit]
The name "East Egg" is a tribute to the fictional town coined by F. Scott Fitzgerald in his famous novel, The Great Gatsby. This iconic work of literature is a testament to the unprecedented levels of prosperity enjoyed by residents of Long Island's North Shore as the economy soared in the early 1920s. Fitzgerald's contrast of the fictional towns "East Egg" and "West Egg" pays homage to the old money atmosphere and social customs that shaped the North Shore region and live on to this day.
