Misa is a prominent Wikipedia browser, and has been for quite a long time. She is a proud Otaku and enjoys anime and manga to an obsessive extent. Misa is also obsessed with video games, drawing, and her very lovely TabletPC that goes by the name of "Snowie XD".
About Misa-Misa[edit]
Misa was born on February 7, 1992. She is a Freshman at the unfabulous charter school of River Mill Academy. She majors in English, and has had perfect attendance since the day she walked into Kindergarten for the first time. (Now she is in competition with one of her best friends -who also has never missed a day- to see which one of them will give in before graduation.)
Family[edit]
Misa's family was originally from the Philippines, until they moved to America to pursue their lives Elsewhere. She was born into a full-blooded Filipino family and enjoys her Asian background very much. She actually makes up the 1% of Asians at her school. Although she can't speak Tagalog as the rest of her family can, she can understand almost anything that is spoken to her in the language and translate it into English with ease.
For 13 years, Misa has been fatherless and lived only with her single working mother, and her two grandparents. Though things changed for the worse at the beginning of 2006---and only continued to get worse as the year progressed.
Now she lives with her mother and her mother's fiance, who left them 5 years ago and just recently came back to start over. Though she feels that it was more trouble than it was worth.
Problematic Family Matters[edit]
For half a year now, Misa has been under a great deal of pain and depression due to conflicts within her family. She has tried everything out there as a reprieve, and even resorted to cutting and self-mutilation at one point. But with all her friends behind her the entire way, she continues to keep moving forward in life, never to try idiotic stunts such as that ever again.
Anime and Manga[edit]
Misa is very dedicated to her fandom for Japanese anime and manga. When buying both, she looks for two things in particular; a good storyline and appealing art style.

Hentai[edit]
The minute Misa turned 14 years old, her hormones skyrocketed. This came to fuse with her love of anime, thus came the beginning of her new found love---hentai.
She found herself temporarily in love with the art of yaoi and yuri at first, but that phase ended very abruptly, and she is very glad that it did.
As for hentai now; she still enjoys it, but not as much as she used to. With her next birthday nearing, she has finally escaped the wrath of Puberty. That means escaping from the clutches of acne and uncontrollable hormones as well.
Anime Conventions[edit]
Since the start of 2006, Misa has added a new tradition to her history. And that is to visit at least one anime convention yearly.
In the summer of 2006, she was lucky enough to be able to attend two conventions; Animazement 9 (Durham, North Carolina) and Anime Festival Orlando 7 (Orlando, Florida). She has high hopes of attending these two specific conventions for many years to come, as well as adding new ones to the list.
Not all conventions appeal to her, though. They must have many good qualities to catch her attention. Some examples are;

- 2. Interesting events and contests
- 3. Large Dealer's Room
At first, she was not at all interested in attending AFO in Florida. But that was before she realized that Fullmetal Alchemist stars such as Vic Mignogna, Travis Willingham, and Aaron Dismuke would be there, along with many famous voices of other anime and video games.
Cosplay[edit]
It's in Misa's beliefs that a convention without cosplaying is pointless.
At her very first convention, Animazement 9, she cosplayed as her favorite character from the manga Death Note, Misa-Misa. She attended with her mediocre cosplay group as they went as stars from the same manga, Light and L.
Despite the group's first attempt at cosplay, their costumes were a big hit. And the trip soon turned into a contest to see who could attract the most pictures and attention. (It was a tie.)
Considering AFO was known to be Orlando's largest convention, their costumes weren't so noticed there. And this time, the costumes were no longer a group project. One dressed up as L (Death Note), one as Cid (Final Fantasy VII), and two as the Unnamed Noahs (D.Gray-Man).

Anime Effects on Misa's Life[edit]
Anime affects Misa's real life very prominently. One largely influenced aspect is the nickname that she has gained from her fellow friends and classmates alike.
Her first name is extremely common within the community, and her last name is a mix of Filipino and Spanish ancestry---making it impossible to pronounce for Americans. So taking the initial of her first last name [Yes, she has two], her friends managed to come up with the simple name, L.
This was then the start of her Death Note re-obsession.
And it is sometimes considered ironic that she goes by two Death Note-inspired names at once. Misa by her online peers, and L by her real friends. But that just makes her love for this series even stronger.
Artwork[edit]
Misa drew her first attempt at anime-styled artwork in the third grade. This sudden interest in art was inspired by her closest friend, brokenlynx, who has always been a constant inspiration to her ever since they were mere toddlers.
As he pursued his astonishing love for the arts, so did Misa---following far behind in his footsteps. She hoped to one day become the great artist that he is and will soon be. But until then, she just enjoys admiring his artwork as she always has.
With every day that passes, brokenlynx comes closer and closer to graduating and moving away to college in Savannah, Georgia at the Savannah College of Art and Design. She dreads that day to come. Because once it does, she questions where her inspiration to continue drawing will be then.
But she wants him to know that she will always be proud of him and love him very much---keeping his constant memories of inspiration very close to her.
