Discussion: Love in This Club (an article in the book) has three non-free media files (File:Loveinthisclubitunes.jpg, File:Love In This Club.jpg, File:Love in This Club.ogg), but none of them is noted in the book report. Adabow (talk · contribs) 08:13, 15 July 2011 (UTC)

Issue also occurs within the Non-free media tool at my toolserver.

Discussion: Not quite a bug inasmuch as a missing feature. Many times, books contain redlinks. This should be reported. Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 05:57, 8 August 2011 (UTC)

Will add this feature to the new code soon. Noom talk stalk 12:33, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

Discussion: The bot doesn't recognize |class=B+ in Talk:Astatine. For the purpose of book reports, that should count as |class=B. Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 03:28, 18 September 2011 (UTC)

Will add B+ as a valid score soon. Noom talk stalk 12:33, 7 October 2011 (UTC)

Where: E.g. Book_talk:World_And_Space

Discussion: Redirects should be followed, and the target's talk page should be examined for the assessment. AKA, The Central African Republic redirects to Central African Republic, a B-Class article, rather than an unassessed one. Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 19:45, 4 October 2011 (UTC)

Bug will be fixed in the new code. Noom talk stalk 12:33, 7 October 2011 (UTC)
This seems to be fixed, although it also seems to not check for cleanup and non-free files. Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 06:06, 13 October 2011 (UTC)

Where: Book:Mario_titles report about DK King of Swing

Discussion: DK King of Swing starts with a Multiple Issue tag, including {cleanup}, {prose}, {refimprove} and {leadtooshort}. However, the summary at Book:Mario_titles is:

1 × {{cleanup}}
1 × {{prose}}
1 × {{refimprove}}
1 × {{[[Template:|]]}}

So the last one seems is misdetected.

{{Multiple issues}} expanding will be readded soon has been removed for the time being. Noom talk stalk 16:54, 9 June 2012 (UTC)

Book Misgrading

[edit]

Status:  Resolved

Task: Book reports

User: Darrman1 (talk · contribs)

Time: 19:34, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

Where: Book: The Legend of Zelda series

Discussion: The book scored 6.3, giving it a B, but the report says it's a C Class book.

This bug was in this revision. The page indicated 6.3, but the edit summary indicated 6.0 (which correctly assessed as C). I am thinking that this is the same bug as the "Discrepancy" one posted above -- the rating seems to take after the average score in the summary, not the page. This, I think, is just one of the effects of the bug. Salvidrim! 10:31, 19 January 2012 (UTC)
Merge previous report, resolved. Noom talk stalk 16:54, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
I'll check it out on the next update. :) Salvidrim! 18:05, 9 June 2012 (UTC)
I checked further and it's a bug with the template, manually adding up the scores reveals that the bot reported the correct score in it's edit summary but the template didn't calculate it properly. Noom talk stalk 13:07, 11 June 2012 (UTC)
Further to the above, see this manual edit was to correct several misreads of |class= from the article talkpages' headers. LeadSongDog come howl! 06:05, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
The bot is now undoing my corrections, putting its errors back in: [1]. It seems it is confused by talkpages with multiple project headers, and shows the class as "unassessed" in error.LeadSongDog come howl! 05:30, 4 July 2012 (UTC)
Created a separate bug report below. Noom talk stalk 22:46, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
  • Unnh, not fixed. This edit still has a summary of 4.8 and a grade of 4.9. Salvidrim! 14:49, 29 June 2012 (UTC)
    • I mentioned this above, I believe it is still a problem with the template and my knowledge of templates isn't sufficient enough to make the correcting edit. I asked the original template creator to have a look, but received no response. Where else should I ask for template help? Noom talk stalk 22:46, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
      • I'd recommend the Help Desk. Salvidrim! 22:56, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
  • This should do it. There was a mistake in scoring in the template. —  HELLKNOWZ  ▎TALK 09:11, 18 July 2012 (UTC)

Discussion: White-space changes, incorrect conversion of internal __nosect__ place holder, failing to update {{book report time}}, losing track of articles "real names" when attempting to concatenate them from the article list, not adding the correct {{book report end}} parameters for clean-up reports. Noom talk stalk 17:19, 19 June 2012 (UTC)

  •  Fixed white-space edits. Edits now follow the correct behaviour of only updating a books report if a change of 0.25 in score is calculated.
  •  Fixed internal __nosect__ being used for section names. Noom talk stalk 17:26, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
  •  Fixed Trailing end of line being added each run. Stops doing the annoying +1 edits.
  •  Fixed Losing track of real names and editing the book report time template. Noom talk stalk 22:46, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
  •  Fixed correctly filling out the {{book report end}} parameters. Porting to toolserver now. Noom talk stalk 00:01, 31 July 2012 (UTC)

Discussion: The bot skipped a few books in the last run. What happened? Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 17:38, 26 August 2012 (UTC)

I've told it to start skipping books if the report hasn't had significant changes to it. Maybe I should turn that feature off? What's your opinion? Noom talk stalk 16:34, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Found a regression after updating my wrapper for the AfC task. Fixing. Noom talk stalk 17:02, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
Well these books don't even have reports. As for skipping reports, I don't really see what's the benefit of doing that. Books should at the very least be updated whenever ratings change, cleanup issues change, or when the book's article content changes. Headbomb {talk / contribs / physics / books} 16:56, 27 August 2012 (UTC)

Duplicated book report

Task: Book Reports

User: PartTimeGnome (talk · contribs)

Time: 22:15, 4 March 2013 (UTC)

Where: last month, this month

Discussion: At Book talk:Wikipedia: The Missing Manual, NoomBot keeps adding a second book report, rather than replacing the old one. It has done so on the last two runs. The first time it happened, I thought it was a one-off glitch and removed the duplicate, but it's now happened again. It might be relevant to mention that there's a redirect to this page at Book talk:The Missing Manual; I don't know if that causes the bot any issues. I should also mention that a large amount of discussion from another talk page was moved to this one just three days before this started happening. – PartTimeGnome (talk | contribs) 22:15, 4 March 2013 (UTC)

NoomBot has done it again, adding a third book report to the page. – PartTimeGnome (talk | contribs) 23:56, 11 March 2013 (UTC)
 Checking... Noom (t) 09:13, 14 March 2013 (UTC)
It's not immediately clear what the issue is with the formatting on this page, I need more time to take a closer look, if the duplicated reports is bothersome, feel free to add it to {{nobots}}, I'll try to find the source of the issue asap. Noom (t) 17:08, 14 March 2013 (UTC)
I saw your edit. Unfortunately, it did not resolve the problem, since NoomBot has added another report.
Does allowing the bot to keep running on the page assist you in investigating this? It's not too much pain for me to keep reverting it after each run. If letting it run doesn't help you, feel free to add {{nobots}} to the page. – PartTimeGnome (talk | contribs) 23:00, 17 March 2013 (UTC)

{ merge partner } erroneously labeled as a problem

Discussion: The merge tags, for example {{merge to}} have embedded in them a check for specification of the proposed merge partner, and the {{merge partner}} template is only supposed to be activated when {{merge to}} has no parameter specified. In the example I linked, Atlantic World does have a merge partner, it is Atlantic history, so {{merge partner}} should not appear in the Cleanup column of the report. This is cluttering up "what links here", see. Suggest that the bot just ignore that template. Can I put a nobots tag on the template?
