Rocky Marciano

Are you sure your edits comply with MOS:BLPLEAD? – "Ethnicity, religion, or sexuality should generally not be in the lead unless it is relevant to the subject's notability." Is his ethnicity the very first thing that needs to be emphasised? Mac Dreamstate (talk) 16:05, 20 January 2019 (UTC)

Well, I guess you are right. Even though he's clearly Italian-American ("[...], a brawny and inarticulate but likeable Italian-American boxer contemplates [...]"[1], "Pictures of famous Italian-Americans like Frank Sinatra and Rocky Marciano hang from another."[2], "[...] of great Italian-American fighters there, like Rocky Marciano and Jake LaMotta."[3]) and also has a special place in the hearts of the Italian-American community ("[...], he became a hero to the Italian-American community."[4]), we can't write that he is in the lead. My bad. --77.173.90.33 (talk) 16:23, 20 January 2019 (UTC)
Wasn't telling you to do anything. I reverted; you reverted; rationale provided; I had no problem with it; and merely asked for your interpretation of the above MOS. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 16:27, 20 January 2019 (UTC)
