Helium

[edit]

I deleted the same story some years ago from the same article [1]. The very long discussion also occured on the Helium talk page resulting in the deletion of the claims in 2010. Please read [2] Edit request from 71.227.76.96, 17 December 2010. The claims reocured again in 2012 resulted in a wrong facts in the book of Nature's Building Blocks: Everything You Need to Know About the Elements 2011 of John Emsley. After a direct contact with Emsley I amsure that this will be gone from his next book.

I hope this helps. Editor SBHarris might be a good source because he was part of the other discussions.--Stone (talk) 16:12, 24 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your reasons seem legitimate. I was waiting for the same because I am a native of that region and own a house just 3 km from the fort. I haven't heard anything about discovery of helium. This is the reason I asked the author for references before removing it. Or we can just keep it as false claims about the discovery because this might happen again if we remove the information. I guess this author is the same person who tried to put it up few years ago. I tried to contact the author directly but he isn't answering. What do you suggest? Abhishek Pujari (talk) 17:39, 24 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
If they make a celebration day to celebrate the finding of helium it has to be mentioned. The fact that this is not the truth has also to be mentioned. There are several references clearly stating that it had nothing to do with the fort. So lets write what is in the references. We also can quote Emsley, which would be a prominet victim of a false claim.--Stone (talk) 21:37, 24 August 2015 (UTC)
Okay. They do celebrate World helium day on the fort since 2009. So we can keep that as it is and also mention the claims to be false and credit the actual place and time of discovery. Can you edit along with some quotes and references? If yes, then I will keep that info untouched and also ensure that it won't be changed again in future. Abhishek Pujari (talk) 07:44, 25 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I put a suggestion on the talk page.--Stone (talk) 23:11, 25 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I have edited the page accordingly. Your references are legitimate. I have mentioned about the unverified claims about the discovery of Helium on that fort and restored your edit about the actual place and time of its discovery. However, we can't deny the celebration, as relevant sources have proved that Helium Day is celebrated there every year since 2009. Abhishek Pujari (talk) 20:03, 2 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Rameshwar Wadi, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Buffalos. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 00:59, 20 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Girye Ultra Mega Power Project requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://ejatlas.org/conflict/girye-ultra-mega-power-project-maharashtra-india. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 14:54, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Also, with view of recent events all over India, it doesn't come to me as a surprise that pseudo seculars like yourself have been on Wikipedia since a long time, running these propagandas against a particular religion.
